Earlier this year, we hosted a Card Back Design Contest, and we received some absolutely stunning entries!
Our winner was the talented -]Holy Platinum[- with their "Sleep Sheep" design, which has been implemented in-game since!



To celebrate Cross Blitz EA’s first anniversary, we kicked off another exciting Card Contest earlier this week! This time, it’s your chance to get creative and design a card from scratch.

As the festive season and our first anniversary approaches, we’d like to express our sincere thanks for the unwavering support you continue to show us!

To show our appreciation, we’re excited to announce another Card Contest! This time, it’s your chance to design a card from scratch! From its artwork to its tooltip!

[h3]From today until the 5th of January, submit an original Card Design to our official Discord for a chance to win the following prizes:[/h3]

First Prize:

Submission Requirements:
• Where to Submit: Entries must be submitted to our official discord as a PNG/JPEG.
  
• Card Template: The card must be submitted using the provided card template, which can be downloaded HERE.
  
• Text Format: Submissions should follow this format: CARD NAME [Minion/Spell/Trap/Blitz Burst] [Rarity] (COST/POWER/HEALTH): CARD ABILITY.
  
• Tokens: If your card generates tokens, please submit them in the same format.
  
• Art Requirement: Original art must be submitted alongside the card concept in any digital format, and Tako Boy will adapt the winning entry to pixel art. AI generated art is NOT allowed. It must be SFW. While the card will not be judged on its artwork, including art helps convey the card's flavor and theme.
  
• Optional Archetype: You may specify an archetype that best fits your card, such as Death, Pirates, Frost, Katana, Golems, Thief, etc.
  
• Optional Flavor Text: Feel free to include flavor text and additional description to integrate your card into the Cross Blitz world.
  
• Entry Limit: Participants may submit multiple entries, but only one entry per participant will be considered for the final selection.
  
  Card Design
• Keywords: Participants are encouraged to use existing keywords rather than creating new ones.
  
• Balance: Cards should be well-balanced in cost, effect, power, and health. The winning card may be rebalanced if necessary before implementation.
  
• Copyright: Submissions must not include characters, items, or concepts from other media.
  
• Flavor and Lore: The card should seamlessly fit within the Cross Blitz universe, with a name, art concept, and flavor text that aligns with the game’s tone. Art concepts can be rough but should convey the intended theme.
  
  Judging Criteria
• Creativity and Innovation: The originality and uniqueness of the card.
  
• Balance: How well the card’s power level integrates with the existing game meta (based
• on Tusk Tales).
  Flavor and Lore: How effectively the card fits into the world of Cross Blitz.
  
• Winner: The winner will be directly selected by the Tako Boy team.
  
• NOTE: The card will not be judged based on artwork.

Today, we’re thrilled to tell you more about our upcoming “Mercenaries” update for Tusk Tales. For those eager to dive in, this new update is already available on the Cross Blitz Beta Branch!

Let’s dive into what's in store with our next update!

[h2]New Mercenaries:[/h2]

• Ziggy Stardust (Fortune)
  The wealthy proprietor of Glimmer Glow Casino – an elusive gambling den where only the most prominent aristocrats are invited to play. He considers himself an elite member of society, and looks down on those outside of his ritzy social sphere. Ziggy takes advantage of Glimmer effects, banking and splurging his wealth to power up his minions and deal damage.
  
• Lustra Starscale (Chaos)
  A one-of-a-kind Demonborne dancer who bears a strong connection with the dragons of old. After a selfless sacrifice, she gave up her own life to fulfill her duty and protect her friends. Her playstyle uses a variation on the Groupie archetype, mixing in uniqe dance-based spells.
  
• Sen (Balance)
  A wandering Riverclan samurai who lives by a strict code of honor. He seeks to test his swordsmanship against worthy opponents in an endless pursuit to hone his skills. Sen specializes in the Katana archetype, sharpening his weapon and attacking enemies directly with his blade.
  
• Spurfoot Willy (Nature)
  A talented shrubrancher from the outskirts of the proutwood. His love of these leafy creatures is second to none, having grown up taking care of them on his pop’s ranch. He never goes anywhere without his loyal shrubasaur companion, Buckaroot. Willy utilizes the mighty power of his shrubasaur allies to overwhelm his opponents with powerful, highly survivable minions.
  
• Broodmaster Braig (War)
  A bloodthirsty warrior who led a violent campaign many years ago, shortly after settlers first came to Crossdawn Isle. His passion for battle and bloodlust paved the way for his promotion to commander. His enchanted gauntlets allow him to summon fearsome creatures born of blood, utilizing Blood Tokens for various powerful buffs and card effects.

• Lustra fight in Seto Chapter 3 uses Starscale Ribbon EX.

• Chromatic Keyboard
  - Old: After you play a normal Groupie, transform it into a random special Groupie.
  - New: Once per turn: After you summon a normal Groupie from a card effect, transform it into a random special Groupie.
  

• Groove
  - Old: Played: Destroy all other minions with 3 or less power, summon Groupies to replace yours.
  - New: Played: Destroy all other minions with 3 or less power, summon Dancing Dragons to replace yours.
  

• Magma Trident
  - Old: Combat Start: Attack a random enemy minion and deal 2 Pyro Damage.
  - New: Combat Start: Attack a random enemy minion and deal 2 Pyro Damage. If it dies, Scorch the tile.
  

• Starscale Ribbon
  - Old: Your Groupies this game are Dancing Dragons.
  - New: After you play a normal Groupie, transform it into a Dancing Dragon.
  

Added:

• Blood Curse Ex [Power]: Play 6 Blood Tokens. Reward: Your Blood Tokens give an additional +1/+1 this game. Fill your board with Blood Whelps.
  
• Buckaroot [Minion] (1/1/1): Trample While in your hand, this minion's cost, power and health are equal to your maximum mana.
  
• Dragonblade Dance [Spell] (2): Deal 1 Draconic Damage to a minion. Plunder: Summon a Groupie.
  
• High Roller Hat [Relic] (0): After you Bank Glimmer, Bank 1 more.
  
• Honed Skills [Power]: Sharpen your Katana 6 times. Reward: Deal 1 Damage to a random enemy. Repeat for each friendly Sharpen this game. ({0} times!)
  
• Lasso [Spell] (3): Draw a Shrubasaur minion from your deck, reduce it's cost by 2.
  
• Rhythm Bangles [Relic] (0): Turn Start: Add a Dragonblade Dance to your hand if you don't have one. Shrubasaur Nest [Relic] (0): Start of Game: Add 3 Shrubasaur minions that cost 5 or more to your deck.
  
• Spur Boots [Relic] (0): Once Per Turn: After playing a Shrubasaur that costs 5 or more, give it +1/+1 and "Death: Give another friendly Shrubasaur +1/+1".
  
• Spurfoot Willy [Minion] (3/2/2): Played: Add three Shrubasaur that cost 5 or more to your deck. Transform into Willy Shrubstomper.
  
• Starscale Ribbon Ex [Elder_Relic] (0): Your Groupies this game are Dancing Dragons.
  
• Willy Shrubstomper [Minion] (5/5/5): Fleeting Trample Death: Add a Buckaroot to your hand & give a Shrubasuar +1/+1 and "Deathrattle: Give another friendly Shrubasaur +1/+1".
  
• Willy's Wild Rodeo [Power]: Reduce the cost of a Shrubasaur 8 times. Reward: Give your shrubasaur minions +1/+1 and "Death: Give another Shrubasaur +1/+1".
  
• Wranglin' Lasso [Elder_Relic] (1): Turn Start: Add a Lasso to your hand if you don't have one.
  
• Mushatsu [Minion] (2/3/1): Once Per Turn: After your hero attacks, draw a card and move this to an empty enemy column, if possible.
  
• Localization updated: This should clear up a lot of the text errors you saw. All of the cards should read correctly.
  
• Fixed Ziggy "Attempt to Cheat" option
  
• Fixed Seto's side quest battles not displaying correctly.
