Game Preview round-up. The love is real.

Two weeks ago, members of the press got to play the first two hours of Still Wakes the Deep. The reviews are in, and well, we couldn't be more pleased...

"Every so often, there's a horror game that manages to get the balance of beautiful, intriguing, and horrifying just right - Still Wakes the Deep is exactly that." - PC Gamer

"The Chinese Room appears to be firing on all cylinders here - they’re on the cusp delivering another masterpiece of gaming horror." - Xbox News

"Still Wakes The Deep was never going to be a journey of sunshine and rainbows, but I'm fascinated by how well Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 developer studio The Chinese Room executes its claustrophobic hide-and-seek gameplay in such a unique setting." - GamesRadar

"Still Wakes The Deep could well end up being one of those memorable games that makes you ask, ‘Why hasn’t anybody done this before?" - Play Magazine

"That cross-disciplinary line is the moment it all clicks for me, actually. There are scares here, clever set-pieces, , but it's the cross-disciplinary Design, the way Art and Sound and Level creation come into play that make it so special." - Eurogamer

One week to go, we cannot wait to hear what you all think. 💙🌊

Alec Newman is our Caz! | Voice Cast Reveal

Leading the Voice cast of our game as the main character is Alec Newman as Cameron "Caz" McLeary - an accomplished Glaswegian actor with a long history of video game performances. Cyberpunk 2077 fans may recognise him as the voice behind Adam Smasher in both the game and anime.
"The thing was so well written, and so well-conceived, that I don't recall having very long conversations about what Caz should sound like," says Newman in the mini-documentary, discussing what struck him about Still Wakes the Deep. "With this, you can feel the writing, you can feel the characters."

Also joining the cast is Neve McIntosh as Suze, Caz's wife, who can be heard in the Still Wakes the Deep release date trailer.

Promising 2024 horror game got a free spinoff and everyone missed it

PT, the self-styled 'Playable Teaser,' remains a standout moment in horror games. The corridor-crawling nightmare factory made by Hideo Kojima, Guillermo del Toro, and Konami was actually a promotional product for a Silent Hill game that ultimately never arrived. Now, upcoming psychological thriller Still Wakes the Deep, from Dear Esther and Amnesia developer The Chinese Room, has released its own teaser as a free Steam game - but almost no-one seems to have spotted it.
