Developer Update - April ‘25

Hello everyone!

We invite you to read our April news recap and give you a sneak peek at what we’ve been working on with our game so far.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
At the beginning of this year, we shared our extensive and long-awaited full gameplay trailer, which showcases the core pillars of our game: building a functional factory and base for your operations, exploring the new and mysterious open-world planet, and combating otherworldly, ever-energy-hungry enemies. The trailer also included the release window for our Early Access launch, which is coming in Autumn this year!

By the end of February, we reached a big milestone for our game - we’ve surpassed over 25,000 followers here on Steam. Thank you for your engagement, and we’re very happy to see you becoming as excited about the game as we are!

To increase your appetite, we’ve added some brand-new screenshots from the game. If you’d like to see them in HQ, head over to our Discord server, where you can find them all as a special 🎁. You can use them as desktop wallpapers, notebook inlays, or wall prints. you name it!

To see more details, we’re inviting you to follow us on our social media. We regularly post new content, such as behind-the-scenes materials on how StarRupture is coming to life. If you’d like to be the first to see them, follow us on your favorite social media channel.

But if you’re not into social media, don’t worry! We’ve prepared a neat recap of what is happening in our development for you so that you can take it all in a big - but condensed - form down below. Enjoy!

After showing our shooting mechanics in our gameplay teaser, we’ve read and taken your feedback seriously, so you’ll be able to enjoy improved mechanics that now feel much more natural and satisfying.

We’ve tweaked the animations, added case extractors, re-done the audio feedback, and sprinkled it with some more polish - please see it for yourself on the video below:
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube] If you’re eager to see more - check out our full gameplay trailer in action on YouTube.

During Valentine’s Day, we gave you a glimpse of how versatile our base building is - it does not only need to be functional, but can be fancy as well!

Unleash your creativity to build with style, and sometimes you can also use your architectural skills to show somebody your feelings towards them! ;)

Did you ever wonder how the various environments of StarRupture are made? Have a look at the video of one of our level designers, meshing a gully and using it to transition from one biome to another.

Using rocks, vegetation, and dried-up stream beds, he properly transitioned an empty gorge into an authentic gravel desert. Every meter of StarRupture is designed intentionally for you to be fully immersed in our world.
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

And what would a functional factory be without a smart logistics system? That is why we've created drones!

They might not look like much, but they are the blood vessels of your base that will be essential to automate, expand, and deliver rare resources from one location to another. Honestly, they're kind of cute, too.
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Have you ever wondered in what world you will be experiencing all your adventures? Have a look at a couple of showcase videos of our unique environments of the planet Arcadia-7.

The very first shows that our biomes are full of exciting discoveries. Rich sources of calcium nesting near water, titanium deposits on basalt structured hillsides, and strange alien flora with fruit waiting to be harvested… with something grand lurking on the horizon...
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
The second one shows that Ruptura Star elemental waves play a huge part on the world in StarRupture.
You will see how the regrowth phase affects the flora, making tree leaves grow anew, fruits become ripe for looting, grass and moss grow back, covering the rugged and rocky surface, and water reservoirs fill up again.

In StarRupture, you will need to collect multiple resources from different wave phases not only to progress but also to survive...

Thank you for reading our recap! We hope you’ve enjoyed it. We can’t wait to show you even more of the content that we’re currently working on!

In the meantime, stay tuned for our fresh & exciting updates on socials and right here on Steam as well, as we’re on our road for the Autumn 2025 Early Access launch.

Until next time,
Creepy Jar Team

StarRupture new Gameplay Trailer is here!

Hi, everyone!

This is a big and super exciting update from our team! We’re sharing with you for the first time an expanded look at the gameplay mechanics, and its features, and we’re also giving you a sneak peek when you’ll be able to play the game on your own!

See the new video of StarRupture gameplay you will be able to enjoy when the game launches in Early Access on Steam THIS AUTUMN:
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

In our gameplay trailer, you can look into our base-building mechanics - from starting with a small & humble base to evolving into a huge and automated factory packed with machines and buildings and connected by a complex net of drone rails.

You will also see another sneak peek of our alien and filled-with-secrets planet, constantly changing due to the different moods of the Ruptura Star, always lurking over the horizon.

In StarRupture, you and - optionally - your friends will join a 4-player co-op gameplay, and take the role of prisoners sent to the StarRupture world to pay back their sentence.

By accomplishing missions for corporations you will unlock new objectives and blueprints, and be able to create new and more advanced constructions. As fortune favors the bold - you and your team could venture even further into the unknown.. to explore abandoned bases… and discover both rare loot and the chilling stories of what has happened there before...

Sometimes teamwork makes the dream work while defending both your base and yourselves from the deadly alien monsters you will stumble upon during your adventuring.

The trailer showcases a lot of mechanics and gameplay elements which are still a “work in progress” - so they can - and sometimes will - be tweaked along the way until the Early Access launch.

We hope you like the improvement in the gunplay - our weapons are undergoing serious upgrades to the general feel of the shooting, aiming, and their feedback to players' action - and we can’t wait for you to be able to check it out in action soon.

The trailer ends with a mysterious location, can you guess what’s happening there? We would love to know your thoughts or theories, share them with us in the comments or on our official Discord channel!

Please support our game by adding the game to your wishlist and following it here on Steam and your favorite social media - it means a lot to us! Also, by doing so you’ll be the first to know about our future news about StarRupture.

Until again, Builders,
Creepy Jar Team

New survival game StarRupture is Starfield with automation, and it's out soon

With so many excellent survival games thriving, new entries in the genre need to set themselves apart. Stalwarts like Rust, DayZ, and Ark are all still immensely successful, making it harder for more recent games to find footing on platforms like Steam. This is exactly why the upcoming StarRupture, from developer Creepy Jar, is doing things differently. Not only does this sci-fi survival game blend the likes of Satisfactory and Starfield, but it also has one earth-shattering gameplay idea.

StarRupture Gameplay Reveal!

Hi, everyone!

We’re very proud to show you for the very first time real gameplay from our upcoming FPP base-builder StarRupture!

In the trailer, you’re gonna see an early glimpse of some of the combat and defense mechanics. You will also see the scale of some of the dangers you will encounter in StarRupture - such as the deadly waves of monster enemies, and most importantly - the Ruptura Star explosion, which scorches the planet’s land with a deadly wave of fire and a blast of (maybe quite important?) meteorites.

Jump into action in the teaser below:
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]Everything you see in the video was live-captured from an early build on PC.

StarRupture has three main gameplay pillars—base-building, exploration, and combat—and this action-packed trailer, taken from an early build, gives you a look at the pulse-pounding combat you’ll face in their bid for survival.

Set in the far future, humanity has gone to the stars in search for precious resources. And the planet orbiting our namesake star, Ruptura, while being a resource-rich open world is also rife with dangers.

In the teaser clip, you see our lone explorer face off against hordes of enemies charging a custom-built base. If that isn’t enough, our exploding star is mere minutes from releasing an apocalyptic fire wave on the planet’s surface.

All of our fighter’s vitals are looking good, but we're not forgetting our roots in survival and eagle-eyed viewers will notice not only the health and armour stats for our player/character, but also the thirst, toxicity, and hunger levels, as well.

Utilizing collected resources to create ammunition to load turrets as one line of defense, the player is valiantly attempting to protect a base under a full-scale assault and there’s no time to waste.

As enemies make their way to destroy the base’s wind farm and storage buildings, a split-second decision is made to protect smelters and crafting pods from a terrifying new enemy assault on the other side of the base.

While automated drones are busy zipping around their elevated tracks to deliver resources from location to location, the enemy assault becomes all but overwhelming.
Making matters worse, our soldier looks up to see Ruptura ready to unleash its fiery blaze. With no time left to lose, the race is on to get to safety… but will he make it in time?

StarRupture sets itself in the story of man versus nature taking place in an otherworldly and breathtaking sci-fi environment where elemental cataclysms of extreme temperatures loom as a constant danger.

The player takes up the mantle of a convict exiled from the Earth to serve their sentence by mining and expanding industrial production alongside researching new technology on a seemingly hospitable new planet rife with mystery and danger. Tasked with surviving the deadly waves of elements—not to mention facing down against hostile enemy monsters in tense combat—each cycle spells destruction yet ushers in a new era of growth and rebuilding.

Played from a first-person perspective—adventuring solo or as part of an up-to-4-player group in co-op mode—players will be able to explore, adapt, mine, gather resources, and build complex machinery to survive and prosper.

Though by definition it is a base-building simulator, StarRupture is much more. The game will invite players to push beyond, to stay resilient and sharp against every assault, building and forming prior to the cycling eviscerating conditions on an otherwise beautiful planet.

For fans of builders, management, sci-fi action, and combat StarRupture will challenge all comers to utilize the technology at their fingertips and weather both the extremities and fierce enemies in order to survive and create a prosperous industrial complex.

How do you like our first capture of gameplay? We’d love to read your thoughts about it down in the comments section or on our official Discord channel.
