Alo just graduated from college and moved to a new city for her first job. A few days in, her office notifies her that they are switching to work from home.

The story of Alo will be told over a month. During this time, you will get to meet her mum, childhood friends and work colleagues.

Hi folks!

We are super, super excited to share that Fishbowl is part of Game Devs of Color Expo!

We’ve been watching GDoC Expo for a while and all the talks have been extremely helpful for us through our dev journey. It feels quite unbelievable to be part of it this year!

We are doing some fun things for GDoC!

✨ First up! If all goes well, we’re introducing a new character in the GDoC Direct! So keep your eyes peeled for Fishbowl in there. This character is somebody Alo is very close to and shares a very sweet bond with. Shh 🤫 We won’t give away more, make sure to watch to find out 😁

🎙 Second! We were interviewed by none other than Sharpie!!! We love Sharpie and all we could do was fangirl throughout the interview. She asked us some really fun questions about Fishbowl, worldbuilding, our journey so far… This interview will go live on the 29th of September at 7:45pm CEST / 10:45am PDT / 1:45pm EDT. 🎟 Last but not the least! We are super excited to watch all the amazing devs of color who will be part of the event with their games. It means so much to have an event completely dedicated to people from underrepresented countries and of marginalised genders. If you are an aspiring dev or one currently working on a game or somebody aspiring to work in games, this is a great event to learn from fellow devs and also make friends.

Hello, hello! 👋🏾

Super stoked to share with you that after a beautiful time at BitSummit last month, we are bringing the prologue of Fishbowl over to Gamescom in Cologne! It's all thanks to the kindest folks at GameMaker. A big shout out to them! 💜

This will be our first time attending Gamescom as well as travelling to Germany. We have heard that it's a massive event with so, so many people, it feels both overwhelming and exciting. We will do our best to keep it together and stay hydrated! 😬

We are very much looking forward to meeting and catching up with devs and making plenty of new friends.

Hi folks!

We are back with another Fishbowl update. A longer one this time ^_^

We are very excited to announce that Fishbowl is selected to be part of BitSummit!

This is such a dream come true! We are looking forward to showcasing the early version of Fishbowl’s Prologue at the event. We hope to get lots of feedback and a lot of support for our game.

As ecstatic as we were to be part of the event, our first thought was researching the process for a visa to Japan. Visa processes can be gruelling and time consuming, moreso since the pandemic. Luckily, we made it and our visas arrived way before time. Yay!

Super grateful to the BitSummit team for helping us with all the required event documents, it made everything so much easier.


With our visa-stamped-passports in our hands, we could truly sit with the happiness of going to Kyoto, visiting Japan for the very first time, that too, with our very first game.

It all feels surreal. We feel very lucky and happy.

That said, we now have a running countdown of the amount of work we need to finish before our flight takes off. We are doing our best every single day to make our Prologue as good as it can be. It will set up the little world of Fishbowl for you, introduce you to our main character Alo and give you hints on what to expect in the rest of the game. We are trying to scope it such that it gives you a go at the main mechanics and experience the overall premise of our story with a lot of little mysteries underwraps 😉

For BitSummit, we are localising our Prologue to Japanese and seeing the dialogues and start screen in Kanji and Kana feels so special. We hope Japanese players enjoy playing Fishbowl. Even though Fishbowl is a narrative heavy game, which means localisation can be hard to do, we want to try our best to localise it in as many languages as possible.


We are also figuring out what we want the Fishbowl booth at Bitsummit to look like. We are preparing some special little treats for a few lucky players. We are also trying to be as sustainable and mindful as possible with all the things we print, make, carry.

If time permits, we are hoping to do a few things in Kyoto:
📚 Visit Kyoto International Manga Museum
🧺 Picnic at Kyoto botanical gardens
🐾 Take a walk on Philosopher’s Path
🎟 Visit Ghibli Park (we got tickets!! we will be taking a train for the day to visit 🤞🏽)
👾 And of course, meet devs and industry folks we look up to, play many new games and make some friends
