Hotel Renovator: Prologue News

[h3]Gothic Style[/h3]
One of the most unusual interior design styles. It reflects an atmosphere of luxury and personality and it’s characterized by dark colors of walls, floors, and ceilings. Gothic Style is easily recognized by decorative patterns and materials, such as ornamented wood, forged metal or stained glass.

Here are some features of the Gothic style:

• Dark shades of colors are used for dramatic effect, for example, burgundy, navy blue, dark brown, or black.
  
• The furniture usually has dark upholstery, and the accessories are most of the time contrasting it, for example in red or purple, and even white colors.
  
• Several different materials are usually used for the floors, such as tiles with white patterns, carpets or pure white wood.
  
• Fancy wallpapers are very fitting, especially ones with ornament patterns
  
• It’s good to experiment with lighting. Using elegant chandeliers and wall lamps creates the perfect atmosphere.
  

Gothic is often associated with a spooky look. Black castles, vampires, ghosts, graveyards - the theme is a scary one. Let’s take advantage of the Halloween season and create a climatic Hotel Renovator demo interior!



Fairy tale look, with noble knights, generous kings, and beautiful princesses is difficult to recreate without elegant armchairs, solid carved chests, and painted canopies over the beds. Beautiful and expensive semi-antique furniture is an indispensable element of a gothic interior.

[h3]Halloween Event in Hotel and Airport Renovators![/h3]

Now, we’ve promised you an in-game event when we reach the 40 K milestone, and here it is. This Wednesday (27.10), the Hotel Renovator demo will get a special Halloween update that will make your skin crawl. We don’t want to spoil it for you, so you better launch the game and play it yourself! That’s not all. We are also doing a minor Halloween update for the Airport Renovator demo, so make sure you check this one out too this Wednesday.

[h3]60 K - Chicken Launcher![/h3]

That’s right! When we reach sixty thousand wishlists, we are going to give you chickens. How many chickens, you ask? Well, a lot of chickens. You will be able to launch them with a click of a mouse button and see them causing chaos in your beautifully designed Hotel Renovator rooms. They’ll be running around like… headless chickens, only with their heads on ;)

We cannot wait for this crazy gimmick to find its way into the game, so grab your family and friends and ask them to wishlist the game now!

Designer’s Corner is a new initiative from our favorite designer, SimArchitect. She will share her interior styling inspirations, ideas, and knowledge, using the fantastic designs she creates in the Hotel Renovator as examples. This time, she ventures off to Scandinavian Glamour.

Pink is one of the most fashionable colors used in interior design and the essence of Scandinavian and modern styles. It looks best matched with white and gray. In my example project, taken straight out of the Hotel Renovator demo, I’ve used the coral color on the furniture for some contrast and finished my design with wood and gold for elegance and style.



Such combinations expose the most decorative elements in the interior - in this case, the golden picture frames. White walls brighten and optically enlarge the room. The rug and the blanket bring warmth to the whole arrangement.
