The Steam Deck Client Beta has been updated with the following changes:

Game Recording

• (Desktop Mode) Fixed issue where the overlay would be unresponsive in games which have Game Recording disabled
  

Steam Input

• Fixed a case where Steam Deck personalization settings would get reset on device restart
  
• Mode Shifts now support Track Pad Touch on DualSense/Edge, DualShock, SteamController and SteamDeck
  

Remote Play

• Fixed black screen when streaming HEVC from Steam Deck
  

Discovery Queue

• Improve the animation when scrolling through the discovery queue
  

The Steam Deck Client Beta has been updated with the following changes:

Broadcasting

• Fixed a crash while broadcasting introduced in the last beta
  

Game Recording

• Added error messages when trying to load a H265 clip or background recording w/ GPU acceleration or HW video decoding disabled
  

Steam Input

• D-Pad directions and Right Joystick can now be used to activate Mode Shifts
  
• Increased maximum sensitivity of Joystick Mouse mode.
  

Remote Play

• Fixed the cursor being too small when streaming from a PC with desktop scaling enabled
  

Discovery Queue

• Fixed the Discovery Queue presentation so that the elements around the videos show correctly.
  

The Steam Deck Client Beta has been updated with the following changes:

General

• Fixed Steam not being able to connect to SteamVR with error "SteamVR Failed to initialize: VR API not loaded (101)"
  

Game Recording

• Fixed a regression from October 2nd's beta client which was causing some recordings to incorrectly fall back to using the CPU to encode video while playing a game, resulting in an increase in CPU usage.
  
• Fixed an issue causing exporting a clip to file, clipboard or chat to fail or sometimes crash.
  
• Fixes some cases where the clip export dialog did not appear.
  

Steam Input

• Fixed a regression from the October 1st Beta Update which caused per-controller preferences to not get loaded in some cases.
  

Note: This update is for the Steam Deck Beta and Preview channels, and includes new features that are still being tested. You can opt into this in Settings > System > System Update Channel.

Wireless

• Fixed a problem where Steam Deck would be unable to connect to certain Wi-Fi 7 access points
