Steam Deck OS 3.4.10 Update: August 31st

  • Fixed a GPU driver crash with Starfield
  • Fixed an issue where Starfield could become stuck on a black screen while launching, waiting for touchscreen interaction.
  • Fixed hangs on reboot when switching from upcoming Beta OS releases.

Steam Deck OS 3.4.9 Update: August 31st

SteamOS 3.4.9 has just been released to the Stable channel as an update to all Deck users. The update contains the following changes:

  • Fixed a GPU driver crash with Starfield
  • Fixed hangs on reboot when switching from upcoming Beta OS releases.

Steam Deck Beta Client Update: August 24th

Note: This update is for the Steam Deck Beta and Preview channels, and includes new features that are still being tested. You can opt into this in Settings > System > System Update Channel.

The Steam Client Beta has been updated with the following changes:

Remote Play
  • Fixed occasional crash directly launching a game from the Steam Link UI
  • Added support for HEVC video encoding when streaming to macOS

Steam Deck Beta Client Update: August 23rd

The Steam Client Beta has been updated with the following changes:

General
  • Fixed issue where some steam:// protocol handlers were not handled correctly due to case sensitivity. Example: steam://url/communityfilepage/ was not working correctly.
  • Fixed issue with steam://connect/:/ was not handled.
  • Fixed a case where the System Report upload process would proclaim success even though the operation failed.
  • Added a "Save To Desktop" option to the System Report dialog.


Steam Cloud
  • Fixed a case where Steam Cloud saves could be synced to a computer that did not have the game installed if the game was available for streaming from another PC


Desktop Mode
  • Fixed clicking "Play Game" links in event news causing client popup windows to close.
  • steamwebhelper support dialog is now shown if the main client window cannot be created at startup.
