We’re thrilled to share the latest update for the game! This time, we’re introducing the Autumn Biome (A.K.A. the "green biome") with three brand-new maps.



Autumn Journey
A single-player endless mode with no objectives, designed for creative exploration and experimentation. This map is larger than the ‘Frozen Lakes’ map you’ve gotten to know so well by now.

Nature of Competition
A competitive 2-4 player versus map with specific objectives focused on managing and delivering certain commodities.

Mutual Fund
A cooperative multiplayer map that illustrates a collaborative plan to fund and develop a railroad network in a resource-rich area, addressing regulatory requirements and shared risks.

We do advise players to play the Frozen Lakes or Northern Subjugation maps first as those include vital tutorial elements explaining core mechanics.

Why an Autumn Biome in Winter?

We’ve received numerous requests for an alternative to the winter biome since our Early Access release. To accommodate this, we prioritized the Autumn Biome earlier in our roadmap.
And yes, we know it’s winter, so releasing an autumn-themed update might seem...unexpected. Think of it as a cozy warm-up to the snowier adventures ahead!

The Autumn Biome sets the stage for new main campaign chapters that will be created using this new biome.

Key Features in the Update

• Larger Sandbox Map: Autumn Journey offers more space to explore than Frozen Lakes. However, we still encourage new players to start with Frozen Lakes or Northern Subjugation, since they offer a clear introduction to the mechanics of Railroad Corporation 2
  
• New Versus Map Objectives: Multiplayer objectives now emphasize specific commodities, adding a fresh layer of strategic challenge.
  
• New Cooperative Map: Large cooperative map with a variety of challenges. Great for co-op players who already have some experience in Railroad Corporation 2.
  

Improvements and Fixes

Content
- Added three new maps set in a brand-new Autumn biome.

Balancing
- Adjusted research values for the Mason Bogie locomotive.
- Large bakery stores are now allowed to be constructed.

Fixes
- Resolved an issue where multiplayer sessions could not be loaded after geology succeeded.
- Fixed a bug where newly created cities were missing a City Hall in some cases.
- Addressed an issue where not all commodities were visible in the Warehouse panel.
- Corrected a problem where trains occasionally failed to leave a station without an obvious reason.

The green hues of the Autumn Biome are set to arrive in Railroad Corporation 2 just before the holidays, with a fresh update rolling out today! Read all about the new update in our patch notes.

Players will explore three new maps:

• Autumn Journey, our biggest single-player sandbox map offering endless adventures to players already familiar with our wintery sandbox,
  
• Nature of Competition, a competitive 2–4 player multiplayer map with new commodity-based objectives,
  
• Mutual Fund, a cooperative multiplayer map that illustrates a collaborative plan to fund and develop a railroad network.

Born from community requests for a change from winter’s chill, the Autumn Biome offers a vibrant new setting while paving the way for future main campaign chapters.

Though autumn might seem unexpected during a winter sale, its release marks a warm and colorful step forward in Railroad Corporation 2 its evolving world.

After last week’s addition of the ability to place multiple semaphores using Shift + click on a single railroad segment, today’s update introduces some highly requested features, along with some quality-of-life enhancements to make your experience smoother. • Multiplayer Save/Load Mechanic
  You asked, and we delivered! Now you can save and load games in Multiplayer mode, making it easier to keep your epic multiplayer games on track and pick up where you left off.
  
  
• Tax Payment Mechanic Improvement
  Managing your finances just got better! We’ve fine-tuned the tax payment system, ensuring a smoother and more intuitive experience when balancing your books. After tax is calculated, player will receive one payment reminder. After the year ends, players have to more months to pay off taxes..
  
  
  
  
• Employee Indicators
  Ever wondered which employees aren’t currently engaged in projects? Worry no more! A new indicator now highlights idle employees, helping you optimize your workforce with ease.

Time for another update on the progress we’re making in Railroad Corporation 2’s Early Access phase! As we roll out patches over the coming months, we’ll be keeping you up-to-date on our progress right here and on our Steam Discussions thread.

Today, we’re addressing a few more errors & bugs, while also addressing balancing & UI issues. Once again, we can’t thank you enough for your feedback. We’re committed to going through it and resolving as many issues as possible in this Early Access phase.

Here’s a full breakdown of our most recent patch notes:

Multiple semaphores can now be placed via Shift + click on a single railroad segment

Balancing:

• Production building demolishing costs have been reduced
  
• Demolishing bridges now returns more money
  
• Office building level effects have been reworked

UI:

• World semaphore view and selection have been updated
  
• Locomotive upgrade dialog has been added
  
• One-way semaphores are now preselected by default
  
• Placeholder portraits have been replaced
  

Others:

• Fixed an error that caused Chapter 2 achievement to unlock earlier
  
• Fixed an error that caused inability to upgrade Sausage Factory
  
• Fixed an absence of technologies on the 2nd and 3rd levels of oil well and refinery
  
• Fixed an error that prohibited Law school construction in the Frozen Lakes scenario
  
• Fixed an error that caused a semaphore placement through the semaphore mini-dialog;
  
• Fixed an error that could stop save files from loading due to a trading rule;
  
• Fixed an error stopping trains from moving after loading the game
  
• Localization updated.

We’re thrilled to let you know that today, we’re bringing you some key fixes and improvements, directly addressing some of the areas you’ve highlighted since launch. Thanks to your detailed feedback, we’ve focused on resolving a few pesky issues, and making sure everything runs smoother for everyone.

Fixed an error that could cause a save files stopped loading at 72%;
Fixed an error caused wide screen resolution options missing in settings;
Fixed an error that did not allow create a trading rules in buildings created as a result of a geology discovery;
Fixed an error that caused a city population reset at a certain conditions;
Localization improvements.
