CULTIC: Chapter One Patch v101c

Another minor patch with some additional QoL stuff and fixes!

  • Issue with system audio causing loud menu sounds, log spam, and crashing should be fixed
  • "Pick Up that Can" achievement reworked - no longer requires the barrel to be thrown, just that it kills 5 enemies
  • "Rescue Mission" achievement should now work properly and not trigger if the teddy bear was the last prop you interacted with
  • Overwriting save files should now properly work, rather than creating new files each time
  • Survival: Purchasing ammo should now immediately update your current ammo count
  • Your Quick Swap "previous weapon" should no longer get overridden when you pick up a physics prop
  • A potential fix for a game-breaking bug occurring during lengthy Survival runs
  • Using the pistol's alt-fire should no longer stow the lighter
  • An Out-of-Bounds exploit in E1M3 has been fixed
  • A collision mesh issue in E1M5 has been fixed
  • The shotgun should now still fire if you attempt an alt-fire with only one shell

CULTIC: Chapter One v101a

Quick patch to address a couple of issues and add some QoL options!

  • Fixed bind for a [REDACTED] weapon that was previously missing from the rebind list
  • Adjusted LAR Deadeye Upgrade to properly mention the alt-fire
  • Added a Run Toggle key (Caps Lock by default)
  • Added a HUG Toggle key (= by default)

CULTIC: Chapter One is now available!

Shoot, slash, blast and burn your way through 10 maps of blood and grit as you try to put a stop to the plans of an insidious cult.

Chapter One also includes Survival Mode, a replayable wave-based mode inspired by RE4's Mercenaries and Killing Floor.

If you encounter any bugs or have feedback, please direct them to the appropriate board on the Steam forums, and I'll do my best to address issues as they pop up!

In CULTIC, you are a disgraced detective who dug too deeply into a string of grisly crimes. You find yourself immersed in a nightmare, fighting against the ranks of an insidious cult as you shoot, slash, blast, slide, dodge, and maybe throw a chair or two.

CULTIC is being developed by Jason Smith as a solo project.

The initial release of CULTIC will be on PC only. Other platforms will be explored after all chapters are released.

CULTIC: Chapter One contains 10 maps and Survival Mode. Players can expect between 3 and 5 hours of playtime for this first episode, depending on their pace and thoroughness, not counting additional playthroughs on other difficulties or time spent in Survival Mode.

Chapter One begins the player’s story, and takes them through cult-controlled territory across 10 maps, including some boss fights. Chapter One also includes Survival Mode and a few maps for it.
Chapter Two is expected to be at least as long as Chapter One, and will continue the story.

Chapter Two will wrap up the story that begins in Chapter One. Additional story content has not been confirmed at this time.

No, CULTIC will not be participating in Early Access.

CULTIC’s initial release is single player only. I would like to look into co-op content in the future, but this will be determined after Chapter One release and based on the development timeline, and players’ interest.

Chapter Two is expected to contain roughly the same amount of content as Chapter One, so the cost would likely be in the same range. A decision on this will be made closer to Chapter Two’s release.

CULTIC is currently available in English. However, we are planning to add more languages after the initial launch. We will inform everyone once there is news regarding this.

Yes, the plan is to allow weapon upgrades to transfer to the next chapter, so we recommend players to hold onto a save file from E1M10 if they don't want to play all the way through Chapter One again.
