BLEACH Rebirth of Souls – Version 1.04 updates

[h3]General Battle Adjustments/Changes:[/h3]
• Reduced the amount of Fighting Spirit gained when a Konpaku is destroyed.
• Fixed an issue where the damage stun of Chain Reverse varied depending on the Awakening stage.
• In online matches, adjusted unintended unblockable frames during wake-up, correcting an issue where combos could be infinitely extended.

[h3]Game Mode Adjustments/Changes:[/h3]
• FREE MATCH:
o Changed the match time to 300 seconds.
o Set the default for Matchmaking Region and Connection Speed in the matchmaking settings to Unlimited.
o Set the default for Soul Crystals and Spirit Talismans in the matchmaking settings to Disabled.

• BATTLE:
o Turned OFF the display of technique names triggered by Spiritual Pressure Move outside of NPC battles.
o Changed the specification so that the time limit does not stop during Reverse Actions.

[h3]Character Adjustments/Changes:[/h3]
• Ichigo Kurosaki (Bankai):
o Hakugeki: Fixed an issue where the forward movement distance became excessive when inputting Hakugeki after landing an attack.
o Flash Attack Follow-Up: Fixed an issue where follow-up would not occur correctly with certain inputs during Awakening or Getsuga Aura State.
o Reduced the Reishi amount upon Reawakening.

• Ichigo Kurosaki (Final Getsugatensho):
o Spiritual Pressure Move 1: Fixed an issue where it would not follow-up correctly under certain circumstances.
o Signature Move: Restricted the use of certain actions after a hit.
 Increased the amount of Spirit Energy given to the opponent upon a hit.
o Increased the amount of Fighting Spirit required to transition to Kikon Channel and Spirit Drive.
o Significantly increased the amount of Fighting Spirit given to the opponent upon a Kikon Move hit.

• Uryu Ishida:
o Breaker: Made it so combos can be connected when performing Follow-up Hohô after a Breaker.
o Spiritual Pressure Move 2: [Reawakening] Adjusted the attack hitbox to prevent multi-hit.
o Reishi Concentration State: Made it so specific combos can be connected during the effect.
o Follow-up Hohô: Made it so it follows-up correctly with specific inputs

• Yoruichi Shihoin:
o Breaker: Adjusted the behavior against certain characters upon a hit.

• Renji Abarai:
o Awakening: Changed it so Reishi is not restored upon Awakening, but are carried over as a percentage.
o Weakening: Adjusted the behavior when transitioning to Weakening.

• Rukia Kuchiki:
o Signature Move: Made it cancellable into Follow-up Hohô.
Increased the damage amount during Awakening.
o Signature Move (charged): Adjusted the frame advantage of the charged attack to prevent it from hitting again.
o Adjusted the damage of some actions against the guard gauge.

• Izuru Kira:
o Signature Move: Made it so it follows up correctly with specific inputs.
o Signature Move (charged): Made it so that the opponent can guard upon recovery when used against specific characters.

• Ikkaku Madarame:
o Follow-up Hohô: Made it so it hits correctly against specific characters.
o Signature Move (During Spiritual Pressure Move 1 Effect): Increased the damage amount of the Parry step button follow-up during Spiritual Pressure Move 2 activation.
o Spiritual Pressure Move 1: Fixed an issue where it could be cancelled into other actions at unintended timings.

• Shigekuni Genryusai Yamamoto:
o Signature Move: Fixed an issue where the second hit of the attack could not be used when entering Hellfire State at the time of use.
o Special Flash Attack: Fixed an issue where it would not follow up correctly when blocked.
 Adjusted the frame advantage on hit and block.
o Spiritual Pressure Move 2: Fixed an issue where the attack hitbox would disappear under certain circumstances.

• Sosuke Aizen:
o Flash Attack: Increased the damage when the Hôgyoku Fusion level increases.
o Spiritual Pressure Move 1: [Re-Awakened] Fixed an issue where it would not hit certain characters correctly.
o Signature Move: [Normal State /Hôgyoku Fusion - Second Phase /Awakened] Fixed an issue where it would not follow-up correctly with specific inputs.
o Shortened the time to transition to Hôgyoku Fusion - Second Phase.
o Reduced the amount of Fighting Spirit required to Awaken from Hôgyoku Fusion - Second Phase.

• Byakuya Kuchiki:
o Signature Move: Made it so it cannot follow-up from Quick Attack or Flash Attack.
Fixed an issue where it could not follow-up to Hakugeki when following up to Flash Attack.
o Flash Attack: Made it so it attacks by matching the position when there is a certain height difference with the opponent.

• Sajin Komamura:
o Awakening: Changed it so Reishi is not restored upon Awakening, but are carried over as a percentage.
o Weakening: Adjusted the behavior when transitioning to Weakening.

• Kaname Tosen:
o Spiritual Pressure Move 2: Made it so it follows-up correctly when a counter is successful under certain circumstances.
o Made it possible to immediately transition to another action after certain actions.

• Mayuri Kurotsuchi:
o Flash Attack Follow-Up: Fixed an issue where it could be cancelled at unintended timings.
o Spiritual Pressure Move 2: Fixed an issue where the attack would not hit correctly against opponents with Reishi below a certain amount.
o Kikon Move 1 Normal State: Fixed an issue where it would not hit correctly under certain circumstances.
o Follow-up Hohô: Adjusted the combo scaling during combos.

• Kaien Shiba:
o Signature Move: Made it so it follows up correctly with specific inputs.
o Special Flash Attack: Adjusted the charge time when in Current Aura State.

• Shinji Hirako:
o Signature Move: Fixed an issue where the follow-up attack after a successful counter would not connect against certain techniques of the opponent.
o Breaker: Adjusted the standing position when a Breaker is parried.
o Made it so combos can be connected correctly against specific characters.

• Coyote Starrk:
o Quick Attack: [Normal State] Fixed an issue where combos could be infinitely extended under certain circumstances.
o Special Flash Attack: Made it so it follows up correctly with specific inputs.
o Breaker: Adjusted the standing position when a Breaker is parried.
o Follow-up Hohô: [Normal State] Fixed an issue where damage would decrease during Spiritual Pressure Move 2 activation.
o Flash Attack: [Awakened] Fixed an issue where combos would not hit correctly under certain circumstances.
o Special Condition: [Awakened] Fixed an issue where Blue Flame Wolf Stock would not be consumed correctly despite having Blue Flame Wolf Stock under certain circumstances.

• Tier Halibel:
o Special Condition: Fixed an issue where the Aura Gauge would not increase with certain actions.
o Spiritual Pressure Move 2: Increased the invincibility time.
o Quick Attack: [Awakened] Increased the block stun time in a signature upgrade state.

• Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck:
o Kikon Move 1 Normal State: Fixed an issue where it would not hit correctly during online matches.
o Follow-up Hohô: Made it so it follows up correctly with specific inputs.
o Spiritual Pressure Move 2: [Awakened] Fixed an issue where it would not follows up correctly.

• Improved usability and operational stability.

Update Patch Ver 1.03 Release Notice *patch note updated on March 27th

We have released an update patch on STEAM today to resolve unexpected issues such as crashes that have been occurring.

[h3]Changes and Adjustments:[/h3]
  • Resolved crashes occurring during Story Mode.
  • Fixed crashes when selecting modes from the menu or returning to the menu from various modes.
  • Addressed crashes occurring at the start or end of online matches.
  • Improved overall stability related to loading processes.

Notice of Patch Release

We have released a patch to resolve unexpected issues such as crashes that have been occurring on STEAM.

[h3]Changes and Adjustments[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue where the screen would turn red and then crash after launching the game.
  • Fixed an issue where selecting "FREE MATCH" from the "ONLINE" mode and then transitioning to "Back" or "Training Mode" could occasionally cause a hang-up. Other minor bug fixes and optimizations.
  • Fixed an issue where the game would start fixed on the second monitor (sub monitor) when playing on a multi-monitor setup. Also, the monitor that displayed the game screen last will now be saved as the default monitor for the next startup.
  • Fixed an issue where no sound would be heard after launching the game, followed by a crash.
  • Fixed a crash issue that would occur when certain languages were selected in the Windows regional settings.

Bleach: Rebirth of Souls (PS5) Review


Bleach: Rebirth of Souls was the perfect announcement to coincide with the anime’s triumphant return. The animation has never been better than in its current revival, Thousand Year Blood War, adapting the final arc of the epic manga and fixing all the side effects that came with rushing Kubo Tite to that finish line ten years ago. A brand new video game adapting the series up to that point was just what the doctor ordered, for fans of a series that abruptly faded into the background.





Twenty years ago I fell in love with Bleach, with its defiant protagonist, its unique cosmogony, and all the batshit-crazy sword fights a shonen fan could hope for. Despite being ripe for video game adaptations, it remained an untapped well. I was left importing the likes of Heat the Soul or the DS games before they were finally localized, and the series hasn’t seen a proper video game since 2011’s adequate Soul Resurrección on PlayStation 3.
