Version 0.4.11 patch - bug fixes, other

  • Fixed a case of invincible bats
  • Fixed several princess eat particles
  • Fixed a case of an invincible Evelius
  • Fixed Van Wampe (the red haired knight) not appearing when the princess ate Evelius earlier in the tower
  • Fixed a softlock that could occur when Evelius demanded to eat a companion
  • Fixed Evelius "no gearing up" return behavior
  • Several Evelius interruption fixes
  • Improved stunned Evelius physics
  • Fixed Alva trying to play multiple animations at once when throwing bottles
  • Fixed visible brown backgrounds beneath cave platforms
  • Pipe system shouldn't break anymore, when putting an explosion potion from a witch in there
  • Improved companion behavior, when transforming back into Wanst from being a monster
  • Explosion potions can not be brewed again


A lot of small visual glitches fixed:

  • Fixed the pawnshop clerk's eyes intersecting with her eyelids,
  • Fixed nose peeking out of helmets monsters are wearing,
  • Fixed some visual glitches of random peasants in the tavern,
  • Fixed visual glitches of goo on the floor,

  • Changed back from DirectX 12 to DirectX 11, for better compatibility
  • Companions now say something on death
  • Reduced voice line frequencies for goo, anvils and alcoves
  • Slightly nerfed the range of medium sized blobs
  • Companions should stay on the weighted step platform for medium sized bridge gaps now (the same way they do it for the large ones already)
  • Improved bee performance
  • Reinstalling the game on Steamdeck shouldn't reset the save files
  • Fixed game over menu on Steamdeck not offering the option to change the difficulty mode

  • Fixed Evelius not accepting the spear
  • Fixed a blackscreen when entering doors in the fourth segment under certain conditions
  • Fixed explosive mushroom in monkey zone which froze the monkey input
  • Fixed monster wearing undershirt
  • Fixed certain aspect ratios (e.g. when using vertical monitors)
  • Fixed various items not being affected by gold and poison potion

  • Updated the Unity version, which should lead to better performance
  • Improved image compression, especially in the village, to optimize performance and reduce RAM usage. If your game crashed when leaving the tower, the update should now hopefully fix many such cases
  • Reworked the colors of particle effects when eating or crushing items

  • Fixed softlock when companion asks for coins but the coins don't reach their target
  • Worked on the way companions start their dialogue in hub rooms to hopefully prevent cases where the player wasn't able to talk to anyone anymore
  • Randos now keep their respective arm animation when stepping over a trap item
  • Picking up Hubert/Randos or hiding in alcoves during the "go into that door" dialogue should no longer break that dialogue
  • Fixed Princess not turning friendly again after eating Evelius' corpse
  • Fixed Princess sometimes not eating corpses of companions

  • Changed the color of golden chests to appear less bright overall
  • Companions now wait ON the trigger plate for bridges and not half a meter away from the trigger
  • Entering a door while a companion asks for gold now counts as if you said no
  • The dialogue when meeting a companion for the first time no longer interrupts when entering a door

  • Fixed rare blackscreen at game start / game not starting after pressing new run
  • Fixed broken respawn bottle after throwing it
  • Fixed wrong input when closing the menu
  • Evelius now drops the green exit key when the Princess devours him
  • Only stuff actually dropped by the player can enter the cauldron now to prevent companions from randomly "dropping" in
  • Fixed several errors related to the Princess' hammerguy behaviour
  • It is now possible to directly equip armor/helmets/teeth while holding a big gold pouch in your hand
  • Potential fallback for cases in which the player couldn't talk to companions
  • Fixed companions not following onto or when returning from the balcony, when there is an anvil or a punching monster at the entrance or exit to the balcony
  • Fallbacks for Evelius softlock after attacking him while he's eating


[h3]Balancing[/h3]
  • Only one respawn bottle can now be active at a time. That means, if you had one and then wished for a new one, the old one will become useless and lose the fetus inside
