Hotfix #1: C++ error fix

Hello everyone! We are in the middle of the most intense days for us!

One of the main things we’re currently working on is adding the AUTO SAVE to our game. It should be available on Monday/Tuesday! We heard you!

We’d like to thank all of you who decided to buy our game and explore the world of Driftland with Tru and Ragna!

[h2]Fixed C++ runtime error[/h2]

That being said, we’re constantly checking up on you on Steam, Discord and all of our social media. And we recognised a recurring issue with C++ runtime error.

This should no longer be a problem as we managed to solve it! The error shouldn’t come up anymore, please keep us updated if you encounter any weird issues in that matter. We’ll do what we can to help you.

First Dwarf - Letter from the Star Drifters Team

Dear Driftland fans,

Creating First Dwarf has been an incredible journey, and it's far from over. As a small team of passionate developers, we have big plans for this game, and we see immense potential - ready to be unlocked, especially with your help.

Your feedback has been invaluable. The overwhelming response during our Playtests and Demo left us truly speechless. The amount of engagement and feedback we've received has been beyond our expectations, and we can’t thank you enough. Every bit of input makes First Dwarf a better experience each day, and we’re grateful to have you along for this journey.

We want you to have a clear understanding of where the game stands now and what’s to come. The Living Road Map and this post should give you a good idea of what to expect, whether you choose to jump in now or prefer to wait for future updates.

Why Early Access

We want First Dwarf to be a community-driven game. We know there’s still work to be done, and we’re committed to refining and expanding it. Yes, there may be bugs, and there might be things that don't resonate with everyone, but we’re here, listening closely, and ready to make changes based on your feedback. We aim to create an open development process where you, the players, can be directly involved.

Your feedback, ideas, and suggestions are crucial. We’re counting on you to share your thoughts, and we hope you’ll continue developing the game alongside us. Your involvement has already been incredible, and we look forward to making First Dwarf everything it can be - together.

Origin of First Dwarf

We’re a small indie studio based in Warsaw, and First Dwarf has been in the making for a few years now. To share where this game came from, we need to look back at Driftland: The Magic Revival.

The concept of Driftland started with a simple yet ambitious goal - to create an entirely new fantasy world. Like First Dwarf, it began as an Early Access game. In the beginning, there weren’t even campaign missions, but the game evolved thanks to the incredible support and feedback from players like you. You helped shape it, and your investment in the world and story drove us to explore the universe further.

That’s how the idea for First Dwarf was born. Unlike Driftland, which focuses on real-time strategy, First Dwarf gives us the chance to dive deeper into the world of floating islands. This time, you’re not observing from above - you’re in the heart of the action. It’s a spin-off of a beloved game, expanding the universe you know and love.

Living Road Map

We want to be completely transparent about what you can expect from First Dwarf in Early Access. For now, the game offers two islands, with the second one being much larger and more challenging to clear. Our next big update will add a third island, and we’re excited to keep expanding from there.

Below, you’ll find our Living Road Map. It’s "living" because we’re committed to listening to your feedback throughout Early Access. If you think something needs to be changed, added, or prioritized differently, please tell us. We’ll adjust the plan based on your input, making sure the game develops in line with both our vision and your expectations.

That’s why we’re asking for your help. We believe Early Access is the right step to boost First Dwarf’s development, and we’re incredibly thankful for your continued support. We can’t wait to continue this journey with you, and we hope you enjoy every step of it.

New voices of Tru and Ragna

Hi, Dwarves! 🧔‍♂️🛠️

As we promised recently, we’re back with an introduction of our talented voice actors that joined our project!

During our Playtests we got a lot of feedback regarding the voices of our characters. Many of you wanted our dear Tru to be more “dwarvish” in sound. We took your words to heart and decided to change them completely!

[h2]Mary-Anne Stanek as Ragna 🔥🐉[/h2]

Based in southwestern France, Mary-Anne has held various jobs in the past but discovered her interest in voice acting in 2020. From then on, she went on to act in indie games such as Burnhouse Lane and the upcoming action-adventure title Wéko the Mask Gatherer, in addition to supporting roles in audio dramas. Having long dreamed of playing a dragon, being brought onto the First Dwarf adventure as the friendly, bookish Ragna has been one of her most exciting voice acting milestones to date.

[h2]Scott Tunnix as Tru🧔‍♂️🛠️[/h2]

Scott Tunnix is a multi-award winning voice actor from the UK. He’s been working in the industry since 2018 and has voiced thousands of projects from TV and radio commercials, television shows and corporate films to documentaries, trailers, promos and animation as well as over 150 video games. Recently awarded ‘Male Voiceover Artist of the Year’ at the 2024 One Voice Awards here in the UK, as well as ‘Best Audio Drama Performance`
