Update #16 Community Update
Hey,
We’re excited to bring you Update #16: Community Update, where we’ve taken your feedback (and a healthy dose of your fantastic ideas) to make First Dwarf a game closer to what we all know it can be. Your input has been invaluable, whether pointing out what needs fixing or sharing creative suggestions that inspired some of this update’s key features.
Thank you for being such an essential part of shaping the game’s journey! Here’s what’s new:
🛠️Changelog (Build Version 0.634)🛠️

Highlights ✨
• Bigger EXP rewards from higher-tier enemies – your battles with tougher foes will now feel even more rewarding!
• Enemy waves and nests are now displayed on the map – with a Raven in the Raven Watchtower, you can now track enemy waves and their nests.
• Steam Cloud Saves – starting with this update, all new savegames will be stored in the cloud. To add your older savegames to the cloud, simply load them and save again.
• Steam Deck Support (Beta) – enjoy First Dwarf on the go with beta support for Steam Deck. The game should now be fully playable, with all features supported, including online co-op. However, splitscreen co-op on a single Steam Deck isn’t quite perfect yet due to the amount of information displayed on the screen. Additionally, graphics quality settings are not yet automatically optimized for Steam Deck – you’ll need to adjust them manually.
• New Icons for blueprints item icons and blueprint icons now have distinct visuals to improve clarity.
Additional Features 🚀
• Monsters that spits acid will drop acid item now
• New Visual Effects for glowing orb nests – experience enhanced visuals with improved effects for glowing orb nests!
• Tech Waves attacks will now focus on Research Centers and area oround it.
• Improved enemy wave targeting – enemies in waves (wild and tech) will now attack buildings within the wave radius instead of roaming across the entire map. A visual indicator for the radius will be added in the next update.
• Environment fixes – resolved an issue where players could fly under the ground in the cave on Canyon Island.
• Quest fix for "New Challenges" – you can now obtain the Research Center. This works if you start a new game or load a save from before the quest.
• Game balance – adjusted some chest rewards on Swamp Island.
• Enemy stuck behavior fixed – enemies will get stuck less often, and in cases where they do, they’ll now be destroyed.
• Input reset fix – fixed a controller bug after switching characters.
• Environmental object fixes – addressed instances where parts of objects disappeared.
• Updated Raven Watchtower description – now more aligned with new feeautures.
• Dragon Weed description fix – now displays correctly.
• More environment improvements on the 4th island – polishing up visuals for the next adventure!
• Animation improvements – Tru’s repair animation is now smoother.
• New voiceovers for the second Guild Chief.
• Added Owl death animation.

Last week, we released Update #15🚀, which some players might have missed since it was marked as a "small update" on Steam. Current Update #16 is the second update this month, so it’s easy to see how the earlier one might have flown under the radar.
🛠️Changelog (Build Version 0.626)🛠️
• Added new paths leading to the bottom of the canyon on the Ruptured Canyon island
• Added acid status when you are inside the acid fog

🎄Update #14 ho Ho HO!❄️
Hey,
The holidays🎄 have arrived in Driftland, and we've got a fresh batch of goodies to keep you warm (and slightly chaotic) through the season. Get ready for festive vibes, new items, and plenty of surprises that will only stick around until January 10, 2025. Let's dive into what's new!
🎄 Event Features (Limited Time Only!)
❄️ Build Your Own Christmas Tree — Add a touch of holiday magic to your island by placing and decorating your very own Christmas tree. It's a seasonal special, so don't miss your chance to bring some festive charm to Driftland.
❄️ Monsters in Santa Hats — Some sneaky creatures managed to "borrow" Santa's hats. Keep an eye out for them — they might be up to something!
❄️ New Consumable: Candy Cane — Sweet, crunchy, and unexpectedly useful. Candy Cane restores +300 HP for Tru and Ragna. It's only available during the event, and it drops from certain enemies. Get 'em while you can!
🎉 New Content
• New Side Quest "Thunder in Paradise"
• New crafting Item: Electric Gel — it drops from electric type enemies after you finish "Thunder in Paradise" sidequest.
• New Chests with pickups on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Islands.
⚔️ Gameplay Improvements
• Crossbow UI Hints Improved
1. Contextual hints for the crossbow added. They explain how to aim and shoot,
2. Added bolts counter to the UI.
3. Crossbow slot now shows what bolts are equipped.
• Enemy Drop System Improved
1. Enemies and animals now have a proper pickup animation for drops.
2. Higher-level enemies have a greater chance of dropping rare items.
• BigFelf's Acid Attack Buff — BigFelf’s acid attack now inflicts an additional +5 acid damage for 3 seconds. Watch your step!
🏝️ Environment & Visuals
• 4th Island ruins update — Visual enhancements to the ruins’ landscape. We’ve added stones and closed up some awkward gaps.
• Island Adjustments — 4th Island got some extra love. We’ve refined the layout of spawners and hidden those "what's-that-hole-doing-there" gaps. It’s a cleaner, more polished experience.
🛠️ Fixes & Tweaks
• Resource Drop Adjustments — Picking up Acid pickup flowers in caves is now easier.
• Improved Item Pickup — Grabbing items on Mushroom Island has been refined for smoother collection.
• Fixed Iron Mine Placement — An issue reported by the community where an Iron Mine on Mushroom Island couldn’t be built due to a collision with a Mana Well has been resolved.
• Coral Respawn Timer — Coral now respawns every 24 minutes as intended.
• Fixed Trigger Issue — The trigger will now correctly disappear after retrieving the navigation stone.
• Enemy Reaction Time — Enemies at spawners sometimes took a little too long to notice you. They’re more alert now — you’ve been warned.
• Fixed Enemy Response to Perfect Block — Enemies no longer react when you perform a perfect block on their projectile attacks.
• Mana Well Interaction Fix — If you’ve unlocked a distillery but didn’t build it, you’ll no longer be blocked from collecting mana from a Mana Well.
• Improved AI at Spawners — Enemy spawners on the 4th island have been tweaked for better alignment with the landscape, walls, and stones.
• Ship’s Storm Effect for Player 2 — The storm effect will now properly trigger for Player 2 on the ship.

The hammer just got mightier. Now special attacks from hammer-type weapons deal area damage, so you can smash through multiple enemies in one powerful swing.

🕸️ Monster Spike (rare) – Sharp, deadly, and ready to be turned into something special.
🐛 Fixes
Here’s what we’ve cleaned up to make the world of Driftland more stable and fun:

🔧 Attack from Above – Resolved an issue where attacks from above wouldn’t register as hits.
🧪 Experimental
