Devlog 2025-03-14

Happy Friday, everyone!

Just a super important reminder: if you signed up for the Beta Testing, you still have until Sunday to give us feedback. Please don't forget to do so! We look at each and every response, and we try to implement your feedback as much as possible!

With the Beta Testing deadline being this Sunday, it means (touching wood, unless something goes terribly wrong) that our public build will launch next Friday, in time for everyone to enjoy the new content over the weekend!

In addition to the new story content, we'll also have another launch cross-promotion, bringing a few more MC portraits into the game!

Those of you who have played the Beta will already see the improvements in the screenshot below.

We've also already started implementing some of the Beta Feedback received by those few early birds. (Thanks for that!)

Lots to do still, so I'll leave you with well wishes! Enjoy your weekend, and be safe!

Devlog 2025-03-08 (BETA TEST IS OUT!)

Happy Friday!!
This devlog was a bit delayed because we REALLY wanted it to coincide with the beta tester invites going out.

If you signed up to be a beta tester, you should have an email invite (check your spam folder?) waiting for you in your inbox!

That means a public release is just around the corner! We can't wait for you to play the new content. There are quite a few new features and story branches waiting for you! AND a lot of new faces!

We teased the outfit selector a few weeks back, and while it won't be included in this build due to some UI snags, it will be added shortly!

I do have a favour to ask. Infinite Stars is currently part of the Visual Novel Festival on Steam, and we need a bit of extra visibility. If you enjoyed Infinite Stars, would you kindly consider leaving us a positive review on Steam?

As always, thank you for all your love, encouragement and support! We couldn't have done any of this without you.

Be safe, be prosperous, be kind and have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Devlog Friday to all of you!

My day job continues to be a job during the day, but despite that, we've been chipping away at Infinite Stars. I started coding the completed scenes this week, and Crowbie and Ur-Majesty have been invaluable in getting the last few scenes done. (We had a 'writing party' earlier this week; it was more of an excuse to reconnect with everyone on the team, but we did get a bit of writing done!)

If you didn't check last week's devlog, you should do so. We've got some cool outfit stuff planned.

We also have Andrea's pinup, sfw and nsfw available for Patrons this month, and Lahkhadia's pinup will be dropping early next week. We're planning on doing a new Lochem and a new Veera pinup next, so stay tuned.

Some of you received a priority and private invite to beta test the new content soon. These invites have gone out to everyone who gave great beta testing feedback on the first part of Episode 4. There are limited slots available, and priority will be given to previous beta testers. If you would also like to throw your hat in the ring to beta test for us, please go ahead and fill in the form over here. (No need to do so again if you've already applied for the priority invite!)

Project Syndicate and Draegan Herald continue to make progress and should be ready for release shortly after the next Infinite Stars release.

This is also the final heads-up about our price increase from the 1st of March. In case this is the first time you've heard of this, Patreon has been nagging us to do a price increase to adjust to inflation (it seems like they care about the sustainability of the project). If you're an existing subscriber, you won't be impacted for at least another month, and Patreon will give you an opportunity to downgrade or cancel your membership, should you wish to do so. If you're a new subscriber (after the 1st of March), the new pricing will take immediate effect for you.
We've taken this opportunity to shake up our reward tiers and benefits.
In a nutshell:
We'll be offering a new citizen/tip jar tier for those of you who wish to continue supporting the development at the current $3 tier.
The ensign tier will change from $3 to $5
The Lieutenant tier will change from $8 to $10
The Commander tier will change from $12 to $15
The remaining tiers won't have their pricing changed, but we have added additional benefits where you can 'commission' new outfits for your favourite crew members while helping us expand and develop the new outfit system. While we experiment with this, the tiers will have limited availability and be on a first-come-first-served principle.
We'll also add an Architect tier with an honorary dev flair and a few other unique benefits.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! I'm running late for a special birthday party, so I do need to go, but I hope you're all safe!

Devlog 2025-02-21

Another Friday! That means I'm typing up another devlog for all of you.

Let me start by saying I realise the current development cycle has been excruciatingly long. I feel it in my bones, and I'm sure you also feel it. Regardless, I want to thank everyone for their patience, understanding and continued support while we wrap up the next release.

We're gearing up to start coding some of the finished scenes, and we've been experimenting with some new features, like the ability to change how the crew members appear on your screen.

I will leave this little prototype here that should be included in the March release.

Anyway, I'm diving back into work! Have a pleasant weekend, be safe and be kind to others and yourself!

Devlog 2024-11-18

Apologies for the lack of updates, but as usual, a lack of devlogs does not mean a lack of progress!

Those of you on Discord probably know that we're still working on Infinite Stars! But if you're not on Discord, this update is for you!

My day job continues to be my day job, and other than playing a stint of Factorio: Space Age, all of my available free time is poured into Infinite Stars.

We've got some more portraits to be added to the next release, a fancy new background, and a surprise character with a twist.

Unfortunately a big chunk of content had to be rewritten to fit with the updated, improved narrative. It's not all lost, and quite a bit of the written content can be reused with minor tweaks. We're also upping the angst during the next batch of story while trying something new. I hope it works! (My goodness, I really, really hope it works!)

I want to get back to my writing as we're nearing completion of the content planned for the next release, but I also felt it prudent to say: "Hi, I'm still alive and working on Infinite Stars."
