Devlog 2022-12-16

Hey, it's not Friday, but Friday was a public holiday, hence my missing the devlog, and the power cuts have been worse than usual. Today is particularly bad. I have 3.5 hours of power– which is ridiculous. (As a side note, I am super passionate about Infinite Stars, and not posting a weekly devlog does not mean I haven't made progress!
Anyways, onwards to the actual progress we've made!

Stoffies has been working on the mess hall background for the Tabitha, and we had a tiny little "creative input" session with all of the Patron's on Discord where they could add their favourite snacks and drinks to be included in the final image.

Linework and colouring are done, and Stoffies is moving over to the shading.

Lochem's scene and the final twist scene have been progressing slowly but steadily, and Tae has also been working on more Mah'Abeu portraits that are already included in the personal devbuild, which we hope to have live before the end of December!

Devlog 2022-12-09

It's Friday yo!

It's been a busy week, intensified by everyone wanting to have everything done before the year's end. The fact that our national power grid has been struggling just made it so much worse. Yesterday we had no electricity for 7.5 hours, and the day before, it was 11.5 hours without electricity. Those of you that have been interacting with me for a while know that I don't use it as an excuse. We still got tons done!

Most of the week was focused on new art, but we did have a live stream on Monday where we continued to edit Lochem's scene for roughly 8 hours.

I do have a surprise for all of you in the form of a Design Insight post. It takes a while to compile them, but we were long overdue for one. Usually, these kinds of posts are Patron-only, but since it's been so long, I've decided to share this one publicly. If you've ever wanted to know what goes into the process of designing a new alien species, or if you just want to look at some gorgeous snail alien art, this is the post for you to read.

Can you hear the people sing? Singing the song of Friday’s come–

Yup, it’s Friday, and that means devlog time, and in this case A NEW PATRON BUILD! Including the long awaited Android build with the new content! Wooooo!

November has not been kind to my creative work. I’ve been sick, I’ve been away, I’ve been having a busier than usual day job– you get the idea.

Despite all this, I’ve managed to finally finish Kiaria’s intimate scene to a playable state, and next I’ll be working with Lochem’s huge, monster of an intimate scene (no no, I meant in length! NO! Word length!) I think I mentioned it before, but it’s almost 10K in words, so that’s going to be fun.

I’d love to stay longer and chat, but Dobby has a check-up vet appointment and I need to take him. Have fun, and enjoy the weekend!

Devlog 2022-11-11

​It's Friday, and I'm super excited about this one! Going to spend some family time together while celebrating 2x Birthdays over the next week.

We're still sort of mending after being sick. I'm much better and almost back to my regular routine, but my wife is battling a bit more than I did. She is "better" though.

Had to spend the majority of my time catching up with day job work this week, and I suspect next week will be the same when I return from our family trip.

I did manage to do a bit of editing and writing for Infinite Starts, but the majority of my time went towards dealing with artists and design feedback. We are adding four more portraits + variations to the game today based on selfies or OCs by our Patrons on the Captain tier. It's our version of "Name in the Game" rewards. I really wanted to release a new Patreon build today since we've made quite a few changes, but I'd have to cut some unfinished content from the build to do so, which seems counterproductive. Hang in there, we will have a new build out closer towards the end of the month!

Zaph is replacing his drawing tablet and should start working on the next two Cephilusk designs this weekend. Elyda, who has been drawing the portraits (and Lindi), has been rushing to have the current batch done before I leave for my family trip a little later today.

Devlog 2022-11-04

It's Friday! (Shhh! I've been under the weather, all right?)

Not one of my most productive weeks. My wife and I have both been in bed with the flu. It's the first time in years that we've had flu, and I suspect we got it from one of the many people I interacted with over the weekend while raising funds for charity. (We raised over 45K for kids with Cancer! Can you believe it!?)

Despite being bedridden from Wednesday, we still managed to make some Infinite Stars progress!

The mobile UI has been fixed, and the next Patron release (probably next week if all goes well?) will once again include the android build! Thank you for being so patient while we fixed this.

The next Patron release will also include Kiaria's intimate scene, as well as the improved Mah'Abeu screen that will allow you to pick a custom image for your MC and some other minor QoL changes.

Lastly, I also received the final artwork for our newest cast member, Lindi.
