Abyssus system requirements

As a long-time Deep Rock Galactic veteran, I'm not surprised to see that the Abyssus system requirements demand very little of your gaming laptop or PC. Both games offer procedurally-generated roguelite experiences and a four-player co-op experience, but Abyssus brings an underwater twist and some Hades-style elements I can't wait to get stuck into.

Abyssus could well become one of the best co-op games on PC and dominate the next few weeks of my life if the full release lives up to the demo and the gameplay trailers. The combat has a very Doom-like vibe, but with all the customization options I came to love in Deep Rock Galactic. However, time will tell if Abyssus can rise to the surface among a sea of other co-op roguelites, or sink to the abyss in obscurity, especially as you'll need a fairly decent if not the best gaming CPU you can afford from our buying guides to play the game at its best.

Abyssus (PC) Review

Abyssus answers the question of what a game like Hades would feel like if it were a fast and frenetic boomer shooter with friends, set in a retro science fiction pulp setting ripped out of the 1960s.

Up to four players take on the mantle of brine hunters, intrepid explorers of the depths of the abyss. Despite not really caring about the overall narrative or hidden story beats peppered throughout the game world, one thing Abyssus does nail as far as its narrative is the voices of the playable characters. If you’re a fan of games like Deep Rock Galactic, you’ll feel right at home with the humorous, nonchalant attitude of the brine hunters despite the ever-increasing dangers that lurk down below.

Set across 64 levels punctuated by four distinct biomes, Abyssus is an addictive rougelike that is hard to put down. In other words, DoubleMoose Games has nailed the roguelike formula in delivering their debut title.

Price Announcement and Plans for the Future

[p]Greetings, Brinehunters![/p][p] [/p][p]In but a few days, you'll be diving into the Abyss for brine, gold, and glory, and we want to update you on the price of Abyssus, along with a few extra goodies and a very important statement about what to expect from Abyssus in the future.[/p][p]
[/p][p]First things first: Abyssus will be priced at 24,99 USD/EUR.
Remember that the price varies from region to region.

Moreover, to celebrate the launch of Abyssus, we'll be having a 15% discount running during the launch week! [/p][p]
Furthermore, we want to make our commitments for Abyssus' post-launch crystal clear: [/p][p]
[/p][p]ALL GAME CONTENT UPDATES WILL BE FREE.
[/p][p]For those interested in supporting our work, we will be offering optional cosmetics, emote packs, and goodies that won’t affect the game’s content.[/p][p]
[/p][p]We already have two major free content post-launch updates in the works, which we will be showing soon in our upcoming roadmap. We plan to include new game modes, weapons, mods, and other ideas, both from our studio and from community feedback. We want this content to enhance the Abyssus experience without an additional price tag. [/p][p]
We want these free updates to let you revisit the underwater ruins of Abyssus and explore the new features of each content patch without spending more money. [/p][p]
We want future players to have access to the same content as Day-1 players without having to cough up more money on DLCs to put their gaming experience on par.

If you like this philosophy and want to support us in making Abyssus better over time, buying the cosmetic packs is a great way to support our post-launch efforts without affecting the game's features.

[/p][p]Speaking of which, here are the first two additional goodies to start your descent into the depths in style![/p][p]
[/p][p]The first is a digital edition of the game's OST, composed by Remi Gallego AKA The Algorithm, and mixed by the great guys at Kid Katana Records! [/p][p]
[/p][p]Then we have our very own Brinehunter Pack, containing an exclusive helmet, a portrait frame, and a dance emote![/p][p]
[/p][p]Priced respectively at 4,99 USD/EUR and 2,99 USD/EUR, those are the first "something more" we wanted to offer you. And if you choose to support us at launch by buying the game and the goodies, we have prepared two bundles, discounted by 10% on top of the one-week 15% launch discount on the game!

[/p][p]In the meantime, check your diving suit, tighten those straps, and load up some ludicrous firepower - the expedition starts on August 12![/p][p]

How to carry over your Demo saves to the full game

[p]Greetings, Brinehunters![/p][p]
[/p][p]As we have stated, you will be able to carry over your saved game from the demo to the full version of Abyssus. And yet, to do so effectively, there is a simple manipulation to perform. Nothing like standing on a beacon to charge it while shots are being fired all around you![/p][p][/p][p]What you need to do:[/p][p][/p][p]1) Find the folder located at:[/p][p]C:\\Users\\Username\\AppData\\Local\\AbyssusDemo\\Saved\\SaveGames
[/p][p]2) Find the file called SAVE_GAME_SESSION_SLOT.sav and the file called \[your username].sav
[/p][p]3) Move both files into the folder located at:[/p][p]C:\\Users\\Username\\AppData\\Local\\Abyssus\\Saved\\SaveGames[/p][p]
That's it! Once you start the full version of Abyssus, the demo save will be carried over to the full game. To prevent accidental savefile deletion during demo uninstall, we are delaying the demo retirement until launch day, allowing players who wish to safeguard their files to do so.

See you in the depths!

Abyssus Demo Sinks Back Into the Depths

[p]Greetings, Brinehunters!

As we move closer to the full release of Abyssus on August 12, 2025, it's time for the demo to sink back into the depths.

Starting August 5, the demo will no longer be available. While it’s been an amazing way to introduce you to the world of Abyssus, the game has evolved dramatically thanks to your feedback with new features, deeper systems, improved balance, and a whole lot more brine.

Put simply: the demo no longer reflects the game we’re about to deliver.
But don’t worry, your save file will carry over into the full game at launch.

Over 200,000 of you have dived into the depths with us, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Every run, every bug report, every comment helped shape Abyssus into something better and closer to the experience we envisioned.

We can’t wait to show you what’s next.

See you in the depths,
