Hades 2 finally has a date for its 1.0 launch, and that's exciting news for just about everyone. But for Sworn developer Windwalk Games, it's a bit of a nightmare situation. Of all the newcomers that draw inspiration from one of the best roguelike games around, this King Arthur-themed offering is one of the closest to Hades in form and structure. Unfortunately, its planned 1.0 release happened to be Thursday September 25 - the same day now claimed by Supergiant's titan. In an attempt to sidestep this clash, the team at Windwalk has brought its launch slightly forward, and I'd certainly recommend giving it a chance.

Supergiant's Hades 2 looms over the action roguelike space like the towering Titan of Time himself, but I've been playing quite a few similarly styled indie games of late, and one of my favorites is currently available to try for free. Sworn transports the familiar progression and combat fundamentals of Hades out of the Greek underworld and into a corrupted Camelot, where the fallen King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table stand in your way. Developer Windwalk Games has just dropped the Sworn 1.0 release date, and to celebrate it's giving everyone a taste with a free weekend.
