Announcing: SWORN December Playtest and Our Release Plans

To our community, fans, and wishlisters,

Many of you are asking us about Release Plans, so we will share what we can now. There are some updates since SWORN will not be released in 2024:

  1. SWORN will be coming to PC in Early Access in Q1 2025. We will announce our Release Date with a bang, next month.
  2. SWORN will be coming to Consoles in late 2025.

Extra development time has been enabled in large part thanks to the enthusiasm our playtesters and publisher, Team17, have brought to SWORN. At Windwalk we are excited to use as much time and resources as possible to create the best possible experience ahead of Early Access release.

To that end, we’re holding a final playtest for SWORN in 2024 starting on Friday, December 13. In the playtest there will be never-before-seen content, that we are happy to let you explore, and share feedback on. Claim your key at https://hub.sworngame.com/.

If you already have a key, you should not need to do that again. However, we encourage you to check out the completely revamped SWORN hub experience.

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm for SWORN.

We will keep you updated as we continue building, learning, and making SWORN the best experience it can be.

Talk soon,

Sam Leonard, Game Director

Hades style King Arthur roguelike Sworn now has a free demo, but not for long

I played an hour of Sworn at Gamescom, and I didn't want to put it down. Of all the many new roguelike games following in the powerful footsteps of Supergiant's Hades, the Arthurian spin on the format from Windwalk Games and Team17 is one of the closest to its inspiration mechanically. Yet that's certainly no bad thing, and with a fantastic amount of build variety, excellent art design, the option to play in co-op multiplayer with a group of up to four, and a pitch-perfect choice of setting, Sworn has my attention. If you're curious, you can try it for free on Steam right now, but you'll need to be fast.

King Arthur roguelike Sworn is essentially co-op Hades, and I'm hooked

Following the huge success of Hades in 2020, we've seen lots of games attempt to follow in its mighty footsteps; even Supergiant has broken from its tradition of new ideas for a sequel. Sworn, meanwhile, takes the basic concepts and structure of one of the best roguelike games in recent years and lovingly adopts it to the fantasy realm of King Arthur's Camelot, creating something that feels at once reassuringly familiar and distinct enough to justify its existence. At Gamescom 2024, I sat down to check it out with game director Sam Leonard and art director Sean Evans of Windwalk Games, and came away ready to play a lot more.
