Gerda: A Flame in Winter News

Hello everyone!
You will find below a non-exhaustive list of things we have implemented in this patch.

New features – PC & Nintendo Switch
• Added a better animation system that fixes most of the encountered issues
• Added better-looking loading screens between sequences
• Added a dyslexia friendly text display option

New features – PC
• Added possibility to disable Controllers from the Settings menu
• Added the possibility to choose between 2 Graphics Quality options (High to Low)

Bugfixes – PC & Nintendo Switch
• General balancing
• Improved stability
• Various texts and UI adjustments
• The game is no longer unresponsive after interacting with Reinhardt and the marketeer in the market sequence on Friday, 3pm

Platform specific items – PC
• Fixed various issues related to mouse cursor & clicks.
• Fixed an issue with progress bar for Steam achievements about the secrets and facts.
• Fixed issues with corrupt saves (rare cases where the screen stayed black after launch).

Veuillez trouver ci-dessous une liste non-exhaustive de ce que nous avons implémenté dans ce nouveau patch.

Nouvelles fonctionnalités – PC & Nintendo Switch
• Ajout d'un meilleur système d'animation pour corriger la plupart des problèmes rencontrés
• Ajout de nouveaux écrans de chargement entre les scènes
• Ajout d'une option d'affichage des textes adaptée à la dyslexie.

Nouvelles fonctionnalités – PC
• Ajout de la possibilité de désactiver les manettes dans les options
• Ajout de la possibilité de passer la qualité graphique en "basse" pour des configurations PC plus modestes.

Corrections de bugs – PC & Nintendo Switch
• Le jeu n'est plus bloqué si les joueurs interagissent trop vite avec Reinhardt dans la scène du vendredi au marché, à 15h
• Stabilité améliorée
• Ajustements des textes et interfaces dans certaines langues
• Equilibrage amélioré.

Problèmes spécifiques à une plateforme – PC
• Correction de problèmes relatifs au curseur ou au clic souris
• Correction de la barre de progression des succès Steam pour les secrets et les faits historiques
• Correction de cas de sauvegardes corrompues (écran noir après lancement du jeu).

With almost a month to go until the release of Gerda: A Flame in Winter on September 1, we’ve released a gameplay trailer to give you a first look at exploration, choices, and the RPG-lite elements of the game and how those choices—and their direct and indirect consequences—can open different paths to be explored.

The decisions that you will make as Gerda throughout the game will affect the bonds she already has with her community, as well as the relationships she can make or break with members of the resistance and the occupation.

You will use her diary to track her progress and the management of her resources and relationships. Also shown in the diary are her ‘mental energies’, the mental skill points she can gain and lose during conversations and confrontations.

The RPG-lite mechanics are a good way to show that your actions can not only have short-term consequences, but also affect the longer-term course of the story.

Will there be consequences if you, as a nurse, help a person who is suffering even though they may cause suffering to others? Will you find yourself in a pinch later, if you give away precious resources to somebody who needs them?
