Vampire Survivors is getting guns in a new Contra crossover gun-focused DLC called Operation Guns

Revealed at the Triple-I Initiative just now, Vampire Survivors is getting another cool DLC, this one a crossover with classic Konami run 'n' gun Contra. It's called Operation Guns. Get on board. Trailed with, as is now traditional, a cool animated trailer that suggests the game is a Saturday morning cartoon and not a top down pixelated nightmare that will flush out any latent photosensitivity lurking in your skull (complimentary), Operation Guns is arriving on May 9th, so about a month away.

Should Baldur's Gate 3 and Vampire Survivors do a crossover? Seems like a leading question to me

Do you like Baldur's Gate 3? Do you also like Vampire Survivors? Well, Larian’s CEO has brought up the idea of a crossover between the two, via a poll that I think is a bit disgraceful as far as polls go.

Yup, now that the studio’s stopped poor BG3 Dark Urge players from being unceremoniously dumped by Minthara whenever they decide to, you know, stop being quite so evil, it seems like it’s full steam ahead on what’s next, which could be a fun collab. Or, you know, maybe Swen Vincke just wanted to cheekily tell us he’s hanging out with some cool people.

Ok, so what’s happened is this. Vincke posted a twitter poll asking “Should Baldur’s Gate 3 and Vampire Survivors collaborate?”, and followed it up shortly afterwards with a nice picture of him and Geo Morgan, Poncle's lead partnership manager, just chilling and giving a nice thumbs up. So far, so very ‘this is a thing, I guess, and maybe it’ll actually lead to something’, right?

Hit roguelike celebrates huge new update with homage to FF7

Vampire Survivors is already more than capable of sinking its fangs deep into any player who gives it a shot, sucking up more free time than they might expect. And yet, its creator Poncle has continued to work away at the hit game, regularly releasing both (very affordable) paid DLC and huge, complimentary updates to the smash hit roguelike. The latest of these, the free Space54 update, has just been launched in celebration of the game engine first used to make Vampire Survivors and, curiously enough, the original Final Fantasy 7 trailer put out back in 1997.
