Nominate us for the Best Game on the Go Steam Award - make your voice heard now!

We’re coming to the end of a crazy year here at Vampire Survivors HQ. A huge thank you once again to all the players who turned this little weekend project into an insane success. We owe it all to you, for real.

Today the annual Steam Awards nominations opened up the floor for fans to put their favourite games into the running. We think it would be really funny if we were named in one of the categories with our silly game. If you enjoyed Vampire Survivors and want to help out, please vote for us in the “Best Game on the Go” category (especially if you enjoyed the game on Steam Deck or your laptop). And if you happen to absolutely LOVE us on your desktop and haven’t taken us on an adventure with you, please consider nominating us in the “Game of the Year” category.

Please note that each player can only nominate us in one category. If you’re not sure which to pick, please go for “Best Game on the Go” as we think that’s where we’ve got the best shot!

Thank you so much. Keep on Vampire Surviving!

Today is a great day to be a Game Pass subscriber

November is a rather miserable month, if you ask me. For a start, it’s chucking it down right now, and my flat is freezing. There are no longer any Halloween vibes lingering around, and it’s a tad too far from Christmas to feel festive yet. That said, Xbox Game Pass is certainly coming in clutch this month and keeping plenty of us busy.

Xbox Game Pass is typically throwing out stellar offerings left, right, and centre. We’re guaranteed at least one or two solid additions to the subscription each month, and November is no different, aside from the fact we get more than just two good games.

Last week, we saw Tom Orry burn his lunch as he let Vampire Survivors sink its claws into him, and I can imagine he’s very much not alone in that sentiment. Having arrived on Xbox Game Pass on November 10, don’t be fooled by the graphically unimpressive screenshots you may have seen.

Vampire Survivors review: an unquestionably compulsive treat until you reach the endgame

Vampire Survivors is morish. Pulsating lights stretch in a vertical column from the top to the bottom of my screen, scattering into deadly particles like notes played on an accordion of cosmic destruction. Fireworks burst in every corner, thanks to the evolved version of my diamond-spewing runetracer weapon that’s now called ‘NO FUTURE’. Monsters go pop by their thousands. Flaming meteors still abound.

Vampire Survivors is an arcade-style survivathon about weaving through fields of enemies as your weapons automatically obliterate the oncoming hordes. It’s still about collecting upgrades until you’re the locus of an unstoppable death machine, and now that it’s left early access that death machine comes in more colours and more flavours. There are new maps to conquer, new characters to conquer with, and new secrets to uncover. If you haven’t played since the early access launch then yes, it’s worth checking out the new stuff. If you haven’t played at all, then God yes, please check out all the stuff. Or like, most of it.

Vampire Survivors is still morish. Up to a point.
