Vampire Survivors patch 0.6.0 notes tease in-game merchant

The new Vampire Survivors patch 0.6.0 notes are here, with all the details on the update for the roguelike game due tomorrow - well, most of them anyway. The notes confirm new Vampire Survivors power-ups and a bonus stage, and the teaser reveals a clock weapon, an in-game merchant... and something weird about to invade.

The 0.6.0 update for the vampire game is due to release Monday, May 23, and the patch notes are now available on the Vampire Survivors Discord. As any fans will have realised by now, the patch notes are deliberately dry and non-specific, so "1 new weapon" could turn out to be swarms of angry cats.

Developer Poncle confirms an additional stage, two new Arcana abilities, another rank to the 'Skip' power-up, and "1 relic to access 2 minor gameplay mechanics". There's a lot unsaid here, despite Poncle suggesting the patch will have "less content than usual" as they prepare for the bigger update 0.7. They also say one of the new mechanics is for people "who simply enjoy playing the game even when there's nothing left to unlock".

Vampire Survivors, Sniper Elite 5 heading to Xbox Game Pass this month

Game Pass is particularly ideal for two kinds of games: indie games you're not sure you'll like enough to commit to the upfront cost, and decent-not-great blockbusters you know almost certainly aren't worth the cost but would quite like to play for at least a bit.

There are plenty of games that fit into both of these categories joining the subscription service before the end of May, including Vampire Survivors, Hardspace: Shipbreaker, Sniper Elite 5 and Jurassic World Evolution 2.

0.5.209 Savedata Recovery Menu

To access the recovery menu, go to Options from the main screen and click Data Recovery.

A few options will show up if the files required for the recovery are on your machine:

Load Last Run : loads the backup made at the end of your last run (synced with Steam Cloud)

Show Local Backups: shows a (possibly very long) list of backups that are stored exclusively on your machine. Click one of the entries to restore the backup from that version/date/time

Load Old System Data: useful to Mac/Linux users only, this should recover the data saved by the old system that got discontinued since Sunday the 8th of May.
Using this on Windows or for other reasons might yield unexpected results, as the old save system was highly fragmented and prone to data corruption.
