Official Modding Support

[p]What happens when passionate players take a game, flip it on its head, and transform it into something the original developers never even anticipated? That's exactly how Donkey Crew was born 15 years ago—from a single experimental mod for Mount&Blade that spiraled into something much bigger. And now, here we are with Bellwright.[/p][p]
Today, we're inviting you to join us on this journey: Official modding support is here. Download the modkit and show us what you imagine Bellwright to be, because the most impressive and fun creations often come from someone looking at a game and asking "But what if...?" No more reverse-engineering required (though honestly, watching you all figure it out was pretty impressive).[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
What does that mean in practice?
[p][/p][p]First of all - Steam Workshop, where you can search for and subscribe to mods that you’d like to try. All subscribed to mods are enabled by default when you start the game, but can be disabled in the main menu or by unsubscribing.[/p][p][/p][p]Second, Bellwright ModKit is now available for everyone at Epic Games Store. Modkit is a custom version of Unreal Engine 5 editor that offers all the functionality our own devs use to create content for Bellwright, as well as a convenient way to package and upload your mods to the Workshop.[/p][p][/p][p]Simple changes like modifying or adding new items, structures and technologies are very simple and trivial, and don’t require any prior knowledge or experience. You can find some guides on how to do that on our modding wiki and, once you gain some experience, help other modders by writing your own.[/p][p][/p][p]Adding new features via visual scripting and other Unreal tools is a little more tricky, and may require some tinkering. Luckily it’s a popular engine and there are plenty of tutorials available online.[/p][p][/p][p]Last but not least, on our official Discord we have new channels and forums for everyone interested in modding to ask questions, share knowledge and discuss anything related to it with other modders and developers. [/p][p][/p][p]Keep in mind that this is just the first public version of Modkit, and as we progress through Early Access and receive feedback - we will keep adding tools for modders to use. For any suggestions, requests, and complaints, feel free to use the Modkit Feedback tag in the modding forum on our discord.[/p][p][/p][p]Unfortunately, due to stricter regional rating agencies, at the moment Modkit can't be downloaded from EGS in several countries: Australia, Brazil, Germany, Russia and South Korea. We are aware of this limitation and working on resolving it.[/p][p][/p][p]Good luck to everyone giving it a try, we are looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with :)[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
