  • Fixed ghost items being present for clients, generators & items not being able to be picked up.
  • Fixed a bug where the Hunted monster could get stuck as she's opening a door.


Optimization:
  • Optimized the Chapter 1 map by making roads & walls cull out when not being in the viewport of the player.

  • Added the settings menu to the lobby

  • Added an inverted mouse Y feature in the controls settings

Improvements
  • Improved smoothness of the running animation
  • Fixed voice chat in Story Mode
  • You can not lock the hunted monster in a room anymore
  • You can now join Story Mode games that are already in progress in case you get disconnected or crash
  • Improved the Story Mode flashlight
  • Added some color correction to Story Mode
  • Added sounds to the generator in Story Mode
  • Only the current task will be highlighted in Story Mode
  • Hunted monster won't shortly stand up when changing direction


Bug Fixes:
  • The settings menu in general shoul now work as expected.
  • Fixed where the audio would go full volume in lobby.
  • Fixed knocked down players not being able to move through the first door on the Hunted map
  • Sensitivity should now correctly apply and save
  • Fixed the heavy breathing of the carnivorous always playing in some occasions
  • Fixed the camera stutter during fps drops
  • Fixed being able to escape the Hunted map
  • Fixed overlapping voicelines
  • Fixed some text going out of screen in certain interfaces
  • Fixed hair on emotes
  • Fixed the Hunted monster being able to kill you through walls
  • Fixed being able to run while knocked down in Hunted
  • Fixed the centipede not killing the player
  • Fixed getting doublekilled my monsters
  • Fixed lag when getting up close to another player


Balancing
  • The Mother's attacks are now a lot harder to dodge

We hope you all are doing well. As the title states, we need your help. We need all of you who have played Surrounded recently to write out all the bugs you encountered during your playthrough!

You can reply in the comments of this announcement.

Over the next couple of days, we will listen specifically to all of you who have played it recently and work on fixing as many bugs as possible to enhance the experience! We've got some new, cool features to add later; however, we're prioritizing fixing potential bugs for now.

So that's basically it! It helps us a ton to receive bug reports! If you haven't encountered any bugs, leaving general feedback helps a lot as well!

V0.8.7.1 - Lives & Spectating System

Features:
  • Spectating system in Chapter 1 after all lives have run out.


Big Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where the spectating widget wouldn't pop up.
  • Fixed a bug where you couldn't finish the game if someone had died.
  • Fixed a bug where the wrong player would pop up when someone died.

Temporary Hotfix (Game Not Ending)

We've acknowledged the issues with the lives and spectating system in Chapter 1, especially concerning game completion. We have currently disabled it temporarily until we can fix these problems.

We're sorry for the inconvenience, and you should now be able to finish the game without any issues!

All the other improvements from the last update are still in the game.
