Reminder About Seasonal Currency

Nothing lasts forever — everything comes to an end sooner or later. The winter season currency is no exception.

Hurry up and spend all your Mnemoschemes, because in just a couple of days, they'll melt away! On March 5, a new currency will take their place, which you can use to buy fresh goodies in the store.

Matchmaking system

The following changes have been made to the matchmaking system:
Removed calibration
Now, when you use more powerful gear in the open world, you'll get to the servers matching your power immediately, rather than gradually.

Note:
 • Earlier in the system, there were situations where a notional newbie could get Master rank gear and stay on their difficulty for a while. Now that's not going to happen.
 • It's not an open matchmaking system — a player's power can still only grow upwards.
 • The difficulty only increases when going into the open world. Don't worry, more powerful gear worn in Session Battles and in the Hideout does not affect the matchmaking.
Changes in the boundaries of the matchmaking levels
Player power limits for each difficulty have been narrowed slightly. Now you will meet opponents even more matched to your power.

Note: Previously, while wearing a Voshod/Thug suit and armed with an AKM, the maximum power equipment you could encounter was a worn Mule/Ace suit with an AK-203 (stock and no artefacts).

In the updated system, it is already a Samson/Trump +4 and AK-103 +4 (no artefacts).
Change in the impact of success in PVP on matchmaking
At early levels of matchmaking, such as Newbies in the Swamps, the impact of successes in PvP was enhanced. In the middle and late stages, such as the Stalkers at the Pervomaisky Factory location and beyond, it was minimised.

Note: The effect of PvP successes on matchmaking is only necessary to protect newbies from experienced players who decide to bully them. In the middle and late stages of the game, this is no longer necessary..

Network protocol

So far, our game has used the TCP. It performed well with a perfect connection, but failed with an unstable network.

Now is the time to move to a new network protocol based on UDP.

It opens up opportunities for net code optimisation and makes the game more stable, with significant latency and packet loss. In addition to implementing the new protocol, we made additional changes to troubleshoot and improve network performance.

UDP is in test mode. It can always be enabled in the game settings, in the Performance section, which presents a choice between the old and new network protocol.

During the open testing from 13 to 16 February on RU region, we have identified all aspects required for the successful operation of the new protocol.
