Devlog #1

Hi, gang!

Check our first devlog where we go over a few things we've been working on, mostly based on your feedback from the demo.

We Listened to Your Feedback!

Hi, boomer shooter fans!

First of all, we want to thank you all for playing the demo and expressing your thoughts & feelings, often in a very constructive manner! Also, when we needed to check for more details, you were very helpful and patient in providing them -- we fixed a couple of nasty bugs thanks to that!

We've gone through every single bit of feedback and decided to act on the most frequent & burning topics. Just to list a few improvements you can expect in the released game:
 • We added an air indicator so you always know how much longer you can stay underwater.
 • We fixed the bug that caused lights & pickups to disappear.
 • We added weapon sway for more fluid & robust feeling when running around with weapons.
 • Monsters no longer highlight when hit while they're already dying. Also, you can no longer lifesteal from corpses (with the Leech card, you rascals!).
 • The spectral shovel is now much easier to use, giving you a great deal of mobility boost both in and out of combat.
 • We improved several spots in the levels where we saw people struggle with navigation, jumping, etc.
 • And much more...

Thank you!

Guns Bring Fun Back to Funerals!

Boomer shooters typically throw heaps of monsters at you, and our game follows this tradition religiously. To be able to survive and get on top of these hordes of nasties, you need something reliable and effective -- guns!
Shovel
As a giant gravedigger, it'd be weird to run around with an axe or a crowbar in your hands. Enter the Total Uber Shovel -- your trusty melee weapon. It can be upgraded with Tarot Cards (more on that in a later post) to unlock powerful, ground-shaking alt attacks. This allows you to go for a melee-focused style, if that's your thing.

Your Shovel can also be used as sort of a grappling hook to get around faster and confuse your foes.
Flintlock
The basic firearm, the Flintlock, is accurate and can snipe foes from afar. Its alt attack quickly dispatches any smaller, annoying monsters, especially those entrenched on high ledges and such.
Shotgun
The Shotgun is the bread & butter of every boomer shooter -- high bursts of damage at close to mid range solve a lot of problems.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Its alt attack shoots spectral, piercing projectiles that can wreck a whole room of monsters with a single blast.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Gatling
The Gatling is a lead-spewing powerhouse, able to mow down hordes of foes within moments. The alt attack fires bouncing bullets that can wreak havoc even behind corners and obstacles.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

These 4 guns cover almost all your needs, but it wouldn't be fun without the heavy-duty tools of mass destruction...
Grenade Launcher
The Grenade Launcher shoots ballistic, bouncing bombs that explode either on contact or when the wick burns out, doing brutal area damage. The alt attack shoots a volley of 3 rockets, doing devastating damage, especially in cramped places.
Fumium Gun
This piece of experimental weaponry, the Fumium Gun, is the ultimate solution to any problem the game might throw at you, given you have enough ammo. It just obliterates the dimwits standing in your way to pieces, and if that's not enough, the alt attack shoots a ball of death that zaps anything out of existence.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

The arsenal in our game being rather traditional is by design. We want to give you guns you know and understand well and can get comfortable with within seconds. Still, smart use of the alternate attacks as well as Tarot Cards that modify and boost your attacks in various ways, blasting monsters away is more involved and novel than it might seem.

Thank you!
