Resistance 204X News

[p]Hey everyone,

Let me show you some cool updates and behind the scenes snippets of what we've been up to since the last newsletter:[/p][h3]
Vote now for your favorite sketch![/h3][p]We’re starting out strong with an opportunity for you to get involved in deciding on a new key art for our new Steam capsule! The game has evolved quite a bit since the first key art and even though it still slaps, we felt that it’s time for a breath of fresh air. These are the three sketches our 2D artist Astor has come up with:[/p][p][/p][p]The old/current key art shows Slice (on the left) and Zer0 (on the right) who were the first two characters added to the game. Zer0 is the main protagonist in the story behind Resistance 204X.

In the first sketch we kept close to the story of Resistance 204X and exchanged Slice with Zer0's main opponent Sargon7.

The second and third sketch show all 10 characters that we plan on having in the game, to potentially have the key art be a bit more dynamic and representative of what to expect from the game.[/p][p]

[/p][h3]Testing our new rushdown character![/h3][p]Last week Julio and our intern Finn tested the upcoming fighter Paint in the office. Using only his kicks for attacking, he allows for very fun and fast gameplay, with a focus on mobility and opportunities for long combos. Don’t worry, he is gonna get a proper texture soon. 👀

Other things we're working on...[/h3][p]We’re also going through the feedback from the latest public playtest bit by bit to improve Sargon7.

If you’re a creator or streamer and would like to try out Sargon7 in our streamer exclusive demo, just reach out for a key! ✌️

[/p][p]A lot of effort is also going into the storymode, lots and lots of storyboarding and drawing all the panels for that. If you look closely here you might be able to spot another one (or two) of the upcoming characters:

[/p][h3]Coming up next...[/h3][p]Resistance 204X is participating in the LATAM Indie Awards Steam event next week from Dec 6th - Dec 7th! There will also be a livestream on their YouTube at 9 PM CEST. We got a new trailer ready for the event, which we will post and add to the Steam page afterwards for you to check out.

[p]Hey there, I'm here with some big news: [/p][h2]The playtest for Resistance 204X is live now on Steam![/h2][p]
You can be among the first ones to play the new character Sargon7. If you signed up beforehand, you can start playing right away after downloading the playtest. You can find the button to download the build on the Resistance 204X Steam page: [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The playtest will stay live until the end of September, so make sure to use your chance to get involved. After that we will take some time to look at your feedback and adjust Sargon7 before he gets implemented into the public demo. We look forward to hearing your thoughts![/p][p] [/p][p]If you want to participate and haven’t signed up yet, you can request access on Steam. The sign-up will be open for 1 more week.

Anyone coming to EVO can already get a sneak peek at them, but even if you can’t attend, don’t fret:[/p][p]We’re opening sign-ups for a special early playtest with the new character Sargon7! The playtest is planned to start around August 20th (we’ll confirm the exact date soon). This is your chance to help shape how the character plays with your feedback. We’re super excited to hear what you think!
