It’s been a few very busy weeks preparing so that everything goes smoothly. We finally received funding to continue with the game development! A lot of you have been waiting patiently for any news so let me show you what to expect.

[h3]If you’re new here…[/h3]
… or need me to refresh your memory: Resistance 204X is a fast-paced 2D fighting game that takes a twist on the traditional fighting game formula and puts it into a blending machine with Nidhogg and Footsies. Your objective: Fight strategically, disrupt your opponent with powerful combos and reach the other end of the stage. It’s easy to learn, but hard to master!



[h3]What has been going on? Let’s quickly catch-up:[/h3]
After quite a long time of solo-developing Resistance, Julio founded Yaga Studio in early 2024 together with Georg and Katharina! I, Lola, recently joined the team to help spread the word about Resistance. The team now consists of a multicultural mix of awesome people, who are excited to finally bring the vision for Resistance 204X to life, woo-hoo!

We are currently starting to work on adding and improving content for future demos, so we can hook you up with amazing new moves and characters. In the meantime you can check out our demo on Steam and leave a review, to let us know what you think!
(Keep in mind that the demo is currently only available in English. We are planning on translating the game in the future though!)

2024 has been an exciting year for Resistance 204X, with both online and offline festival appearances! Here’s a recap of our journey so far:

In February, we were thrilled to be selected by Steam for their Remote Play Together Fest. During this online festival, we streamed player reactions as they dove into the world of Resistance 204X and had a blast!



Also in February, we were honored to be featured at GGBavaria Fest 2024 in Munich, a hub for gaming enthusiasts, e-sports fans, indie game lovers, anime aficionados, and nerd culture in general. The energy was incredible, with cosplayers and attendees glued to our game. The feedback was so valuable that we immediately started making enhancements for our next showcase.



In April, Resistance 204X was selected by FusionPlay for the CAGGTUS Indie Showcase in Leipzig, Germany. This was our opportunity to test the new enhancements we had been working on after GGBavaria, and it paid off! The response was fantastic, leading to our nomination for the Find Your Next Game Indie Award.



We also pitched the game to a panel of experts and received incredible feedback, further refining our vision.



In May, we took Resistance 204X to the Guadalindie Festival in Málaga, Spain. It was an unforgettable experience where we pitched the game to publishers and showcased it to a highly enthusiastic audience.



Our game was also featured on the Best Indie Games at Guadalindie 2024 list and mentioned in the Indie Bandits Podcast.

Later in May, we were selected to host a live tournament at Beat Em Hub’s Indie Special in Berlin, Germany. The Resistance 204X exclusive tournament was a highlight of the event, filled with intense, exciting matches that left participants and spectators alike buzzing with excitement.




In June, Resistance 204X was selected by the Verband der deutschen Games-Branche for the Games Baked In Germany Steam Fest, showcasing the best of German game development.



And in July, we were once again featured by Steam, this time in their Fighting Games Fest, bringing even more players into the Resistance 204X community.

The Indie Fighting Games Fest is a five-day online celebration of fighting games created by independent developers and small teams.

Many of these games will run discounts or demos.
