Update to Version 1.2.4a

So I have been running a lovely video of a playthrough of Islands of the Caliph on the store page for a couple days. In the video, the streamer encounters a hammer in the jungle ruins on the third island.

He is perplexed by the fact that his own hammer, which is graded "fair" has better stats than the supposedly "exceptional" hammer that he finds.

Well it was all a big mistake. That hammer was not exceptional, nor was it meant to be. the problem was that the hammer was added manually to the game level, and I simply entered the wrong number for one of the object variables.

The issue has been remedied in this latest, small update to the game. The person responsible was fired (and then immediately re-hired).

Update to Version 1.2.4

First I have to apologize for never actually uploading the previous update (1.2.3) to the default game. I had uploaded and tested it under the testing branch, but never set it as the default branch, so make sure you check out the previous changes...
Negative Skill Points
For this update I was able to fix the bug that allowed players to gain more points in a skill than the number of skill points available, resulting in having a negative number of skill points.
Treasure Update
The other, more significant change, is that treasures should now be ... better. Previously the treasure was generated totally randomly. Even "high level" treasures in later dungeons, could be just as likely to produce low level items like shoddy weapons or armor.

Now this potential to have low level items in treasure chests is still there, but the change requires that at least the first item in that chest will be an armor or weapon that is level appropriate.

IMPORTANT: When you play the game, as soon as you enter a particular level, the treasure chests are generated and saved. So this updated treasure thing will not be working for levels that players have already entered, it will only effect levels they have not entered yet.

Update to Version 1.2.3

I have had at some of the outstanding bug reports and made an attempt to fix them.
Some notable examples:
1. Game should no longer allow closing a chest or merchant while selecting a number of items
 2. Arrows no longer turn into energy blasts (in a certain location)
 3. Holes, stumps, monsters and other things should no longer compete to appear in front of one another
 4. Some spelling errors were fixed
 5. Fires can no longer be set underwater

Demo Updated to 1.2.2b

The game's Demo version has been updated to be compatible with the full game.

Unfortunately this means any ongoing saved games will no longer work, however anyone who wants to continue a saved game can activate the legacy1.1.7 version through the following method:

Go to "Islands of the Caliph > Properties > Betas" and select "legacy1.1.7" from the drop-down menu if you want to continue your saved game.

Going forward there should no longer be any changes that will require a new saved game. Sorry for any inconvenience!
Soundtrack
You may have noticed that the Islands of the Caliph store page now allows you to get the official soundtrack. If you enjoy Hugo Rodrigue's beautiful music, please consider purchasing the soundtrack.

Update to Version 1.2.2b

UPDATE: I found the non-working stairs. They were in the ancient ruins on the Isle of Jahiliyyah. I believe that is all of them, but let me know if you encounter this again.

Some of the updated stairs has a strange graphical glitch. This should now be fixed.

I am hearing reports that some of the stairs are still not working, but I'm not able to reproduce the problem, I will keep checking, but if anyone knows which area this is happening, that would help to speed up the solution.
