CENTRAL REGION AND EASTERN REGION COMMUNITY PHOTO EVENT
CENTRAL REGION AND EASTERN REGION COMMUNITY PHOTO EVENT
Hi everyone! If you’ve been around these lands for a while, you’ll remember our Central Region Interactive Map event, which we ran last year with our community. The response was wonderful, so thank you again to everyone that took part! Today, we’ve updated the page with the DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT Eastern Region map, giving Porters like yourself an additional opportunity to share your journey with us.

With that in mind, we invite you all to share your very best photo mode shots with us. We’ll pick our favourites over the coming weeks and months and pinpoint them on our maps. When new Porters join us, they’ll be able to go into the game with some expectations of what to expect as they explore.
COMMUNITY EVENT DETAILS
Want to get involved? Here’s what you need to know.

• Submit your very best photo mode shots on Steam or at https://505games.com/uploads/ along with a clear screenshot of the map, highlighting where in the world you’ve taken your photos. This will allow us to pin your shots on our interactive map in the right place. Without that additional screenshot, we won’t be able to accurately identify where on the Central Region or Eastern Region map the photo was captured.
• Think outside the box and travel far and wide! We’re looking for variety, so do explore as much of the map as possible.
• Please only use the photo mode tools available in the game.
• If you wish to include a short message to support your photo submissions, then leave them in the comments and we’ll include them with your captures on our website!

We can’t wait to see your captures and showcase them on our Central Region and Eastern Region maps.

CELEBRATING WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY

Virtual photographers, today marks World Photography Day and once again, we want to take the time to celebrate with our DEATH STRANDING Porters. Over the last couple of years, our community has continued to impress the team at KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS and 505 Games on a daily basis with their creative captures, so please, keep those coming!

To celebrate World Photography Day, this year we’re inviting you all to contribute to a DEATH STRANDING digital photo album, which will be hosted on our website and on Steam. This digital photo album will feature a number of our favorite photo mode shots, with a focus on various camera scenes.

Grab any digital camera and you’ll likely have access to a number of scenes on the control wheel. While in real life, the scenes available on a camera make capturing that perfect shot super easy, you’re going to have to be a little more creative in-game. Some of the most common scene modes include:
MACRO MODE
(Credit @deathstrandingl A big thank you to Lisa for her continued support and for allowing us to showcase her amazing photo mode shots here!)

With that in mind, we want to invite our Porters to capture moments in DEATH STRANDING that fit into any of the above categories. The aim is to create a digital photo album for each scene, so when submitting your captures, please note which category your shot fits into.

Want to get involved? Submit your best photo mode shots here before September 2nd 11:59 BST to be in with a chance of getting featured.

The more creative you are, the more likely you’ll be included in our final selection.

CELEBRATING 2 YEARS OF DEATH STRANDING ON PC

It feels like yesterday the team at 505 Games and KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS were preparing to launch DEATH STRANDING on PC. Has it really been 2 years already? It’s hard to believe.

If the past couple of years have taught us anything, it’s that connections matter, a theme heavily expressed within DEATH STRANDING. Forging bonds with one another in such isolating times has been hard, but this community has done a stellar job at staying connected to one another and with us in such a positive way. Thank you so much for that.

Looking back, a lot has happened in 2 years. Let’s take a moment to reflect.
PHOTO MODE CELEBRATIONS
Since our initial launch back in July 2020, our Porters have been incredibly creative, taking full advantage of the photo mode tools and features available. We’ve seen thousands of your shots over the past couple of years and we hope you continue to send them our way. We absolutely love seeing your virtual photography! Take a look at just a small handful of our favourite submissions from over the years here:

Want to get involved? Tweet us using #DSPhotoModePC or head to our fan art submission form and submit your snaps for a chance to be featured on our website:
PORTERS, YOU’VE BEEN BUSY!
Back in March 2022, we brought DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT to PC and it has been wonderful to see so many of you jump back in the game or jump in for the very first time. Since launch, our Porters have been on an incredible adventure. Check out some of these stats from DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT:
A TIMELINE OF EVENTS
We’ve had another year of amazing fun with our community and we want to take a moment to look back on the things we’ve done. From photo mode events, to Q&A sessions, we’ve had a great year of community activity with our players. Check out our updated interactive timeline here and catch up with anything you might have missed:
THANK YOU, PORTERS
We’re going to get sentimental now and take a moment to step back and reflect on what’s been an amazing 2 years in the land of community. Ever since we announced that DEATH STRANDING would be making its way to PC, our fans have shown us so much love and support, across both the 505 Games and KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS social channels. It’s hard to put into words the impact you’ve had on our team.

From a personal standpoint, these last 2 years have been incredible. Little did I know that I was going to be given the privilege to manage one of the most wonderful communities I’ve ever had the opportunity to lead. Looking back to October 2019, I’ll never forget the day we were preparing to go live with our social media announcement comms. My hands were literally shaking with nerves, as I was asking my manager to double / triple check our comms before going live. Never had I ever dealt with an announcement like this before and it was super daunting. Those moments don’t come around very often and as your community manager, I treasure every single day that I get to engage with you all. Every single photo mode shot, fan art submission and message of support is appreciated, more than you know.

Of course, none of what we’ve been able to do with our community over the last 2 years could have been achieved without our wonderful teammate, Aki Saito, (Head of Comms at KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS) who I have so much to thank for!

Antonela Pounder (Director of Global Community at 505 Games)

Everyday, I am always excited to check the community posting #DeathStranding related photo mode pictures, fan art, (and even some random things!) on social media (Yes, I’m the guy on the official KJP Twitter channel). I am really thankful to see everyone enjoying and connecting via #DeathStranding. Thank you so, so much. It really means a lot to me and all of us at KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS!

Aki Saito (Head of Comms at KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS)
KEEP ON KEEPING ON
We’re going to wrap things up today by saying thank you once again to our amazing Porters. Every day, you brighten up our social timelines and you are appreciated more than you realise. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for your support. While DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT has now launched, we still intend on having some fun with our players. Stay tuned to our social channels for upcoming community activities - we have lots planned!
