New playable Character: the Bard!

Good day, Steam friends!



New Character joins the cast!

We are overjoyed to present you the new 5th playable character of Baladin's cast: THE BARD.

Carrying their lyre from place to place, from village to village, they've quickly become the talk of the town, and have been winning the hearts of the people one serenade at a time!

Their lead stat is obviously the Finesse and they know how to make good use of their aura to convince people around.

Joining the already existing cast constituted of the Cook (Creation), the Dancer (Physique), the Luxomancer (Knowledge), and the Pyrotechnician (Destruction).

We hope you'll like them!

Additionally, Baladins will be part of this year's Wholesome Snack: The Game Awards Edition!

Tokyo Game Show and a brand new DEMO

Hello fellow Steam players!



Tokyo Game Show

We're overly hyped to be part of the Tokyo Game Show 2023!!! Our quirky & cute adventure game is part of one of the most mythical events in the game field. This is all thanks to our friends at Armor Games Studio and Kakehashi Games who made it possible.
The team has also worked hard to provide a new demo for the show, bringing the best of Baladins to Japan. On this occasion, the game gets a new lift and a full translation into Japanese!

If you happen to be around in Tokyo, come and say hi to the team on the booth.

What's new and hot in the new demo
- Hear ye Baladins, it's time to explore new grounds, the region of Hortegarde is opening its doors!
- A whole new area with unseen characters, quests, and storylines to discover. An hour and more of new content!
- The full game loop is there, meet with the Colobra and start over to pursue your destiny
- Local multiplayer is available, make your best combos and tricks with the new multiplayer features available
- Items, item exchange, and item consumption: the inventory system revealed!

DEMO UPDATE + Kickstarter 250%



Hi Steam! We have updated the demo with minor fixes and features! Changes with the 🐲 icon in front of them are changes or additions suggested by the community.

We plan to leave the DEMO accessible on Steam for at least 15 days more. We hope you'll enjoy :)

New Features
- Quests marker under NPCs in locations are updated if you need to talk to them to advance in a quest! We hope it will clarify who to talk to at which moment :)
- Current player inventory is now also displayed under the stat UI. You can see what's inside your bag in a glance and hover items to check who need them!
- The map has been updated! New flowers, true vineyards, golden beehives, smooth grass and fluffy bushes... Everything is ready to welcome cute animals ;)

Quality of life
- 🐲 The 'end turn' button is now displayed in the locations UI when you don't have action/movement points left.
- A feedback has been added when you gain a characteristic !
- The last week is now notified at the right moment (being... at the beginning of the last week, yeah).
- Overall UI optimization.
- Tonneline has been buffed.

Corrections
- 🐲 The skin tone of the Luxomancer in the endgame slideshow has been updated to better match its tone during gameplay.
- Gold in inventory menu is now updated during player's turn.

Kickstarter update
Baladins is running a Kickstarter campaign at the moment. The project is funded at 250% with more than 1180 backers!!
We are entering in the LAST 48H of the campaign, let's goooo!

Baladins Demo - French version & Patch #1



Good day to all of you! We have updated the demo of the game with some minor fixes, quality of life and a whole new trad to french! Have fun.

NEW FRENCH TRANSLATION
The game is now playable in French !
You can switch languages in the settings menu

Quality of life:
- Menu tabs are now displayed during narrative events.
- A tutorial has been added during the first narrative event.
- Characteristics and items gain have a proper feedback now.
- The settings menu button is more visible in the title menu.
- We clarified the randomness of some events by writing the results of hidden dice rolls

Balancing:
- Alda's and Filomena's challenges are now subject to dice rolls to harmonize all behaviors in the game.
- Fixed the stolen wine questline : you couldn't meet the sleeping bandit if you did not tell the bandits about the secret passage in the castle. There was also a bug allowing you to steal from the bandit and receive nothing.
- The base difficulty threshold of all dice rolls has been raised a bit (from 7 to 8 )
- Added a system to prevent being trapped in a bad luck loop : the hard challenges with the salamanders are automatic successes if you try enough times.

Kickstarter update:
Baladins is running a Kickstarter campaign right at the moment. We're already funded at 160% and we still have 22 days to go! Already 700 backers joined us in the adventure.

STREAM CANCELLED - Sorry for the Inconvenience

Baladins first DEMO is presented at the LudoNarraCon event!

We are running a developer's stream where the designers will be commenting on the game's design and how the technical aspect of development can affect your design intentions.

LudoNarraCon is taking place May 5-9. We also recommend to check out all the amazing games showcased at the event! To learn more about it, visit the LudoNarraCon website!



Also, Baladins is live on Kickstarter for 2 days, and we are already 70% funded!

Starting a crowdfunding was very important to us, as we really want to build the game with our players. We are a small independant game cooperative, and the support from the community is more important than anything. We believe this campaign will help up to make the best of Baladins!!!
