Today, we'll be talking about the
story of the game, the multiple quests you may encounter and what you'll have to face in order to restore peace in the kingdoms. It may be dangerous monsters. It may also be some bees to avoid, monkeys to tame or riddles to solve.
One thing is for sure: we've got a lot of surprises for you with our game!
[h2]Worlds of Aria: a new adventure to experience with your friends[/h2]
Worlds of Aria is a tabletop RPG set in a
light fantasy universe. A great number of cultures co-exist together, with each kingdom having their own secrets and mysteries. Every day, people meet strange creatures or experience magical events.
Their daily life is vastly different from ours. This is a world where merchants and fishermen coexist with powerful magicians, demons, brilliant scientists and ancient gods. Glotoon, the god of the sea is frequently seen by lost sailors...
Daring adventurers may find relics and forgotten cities deep in the jungle during their quests, even though sometimes it's better to not trouble the sleep of the ancient power living there. Worlds of Aria is filled with surprises: one day you fight a gigantic demon, the other you find yourself participating in the festivities of an island!
[h2]Creating the world[/h2]
Worlds of Aria is adapted from a famous tabletop web series in France, created by
FibreTigre. His main inspiration to create this world is the book series
Sorcery, written by Steve Jackson in the 1980s. These adventure gamebooks introduced more mechanics to the genre, especially with the possibility to play a warrior or a wizard. It may seem obvious to us now in 2023, but it wasn't the case back then!
At Ludogram, we were looking for something both efficient with its story and also able to adapt to different styles. We found the perfect inspiration with
Tintin, the famous belgian reporter, but we didn't stop there! We looked for more inspirations, more things to help us bring our ideas to life. Thus, we took a little from:
- Indiana Jones for the rythm and the variety of the scenes
- Astérix & Obélix for the comedy and how the characters are conceived
- Tolkien of course, for the epic fantasy adventure
[h2]Your story, your character[/h2]
Everyone can become a true adventurer in Worlds of Aria but
nobody's perfect. From an overpowered warrior to a shady trader, or even a clumsy mage, like the one we've seen in the recent Dungeons & Dragons movie. Everyone is a little selfish and this is absolutely something you can emphasize when playing with your friends.
In Worlds of Aria, all the characters are slightly off the mark. They're aside from society and they all have a distinct caracteristic that make them truly peculiar and really essential to the rest of the group.
[h2]Four campaigns, one distinct villain[/h2]
Each new campaign will take you on a journey to a
different kingdom, with its own unique atmosphere and storyline. From the get go, you'll be running after
Grand-Duke, the mastermind behind every problem in Worlds of Aria!
- In the first campaign, dive into the large city of Aria and stop a conspiracy against the Queen. The future of the kingdom lies in your hands! Meet multiple characters and smuggle your way inside the palace.
- The second campaign will see your adventurers set foot on a desertic land, home to supernatural beings and demons. Travel from one side of the kingdom to another and learn how to become a real demon hunter.
- The third one will bring a radical change to your adventure. Join the island of Mykronos with a mix of mediteranean and tropical atmospheres as you try to catch Grand-Duke while he's on the run. Will you be able to catch him as you jump from one charming location to a dangerous one?
- And the last campaign? Well, we prefer not to say much about it but... the story revolves around the mysterious World of Dreams!
[h2]A world of adventures[/h2]
Worlds of Aria will get you to live a grand adventure, filled with epic moments and ludicrous ones. Who said you couldn't have a conspiracy to prevent and a very difficult chicken to catch in the same campaign? Both are important!
