Surprise Update: Central Park Update

Hey Giants!

We hope you had a marvelous summer, we are back with a surprise update! It's not a Major update but we have worked on some Quality of Life improvements, new biotica and some UI changes that we hope you will enjoy! Many of them were added thanks to your suggestions and feedback both on Discord and Steam, like the planets you can now rename, as well as your profiles, so a huge thank you!

People often think that Central Park is the largest park in New York but it is in fact the sixth-largest park in the city, containing 843 acres. A 2013 survey of park species by William E. Macaulay Honors College found 571 total species living in the park. According to a 2011 survey, Central Park had more than 20,000 trees, less than the 26,000 trees they used to have in 1993.

We are already working on the next Major Update as you know and we can't wait to share it with you! You can find the full Patch Notes at the end of this Steam News.
New Biotica:
Three new biotica join the Reus 2’s ecosystem with the Dove, the Rat and the Kentucky Coffeetree!
QoL improvements:
You can now rename your planets and profiles as you wish. There is also a change in the bioticum collection UI as now general text search is supported; you can freely write any text to search through biotica rules, tags and names easily! Another helpful feature during puzzling is the bioticum placement preview UI, with which you can see the effects of any pending placement. Read the full changes in the patch notes below!

A special shoutout to community member Will who has compiled many community QoL suggestions in this handy guide. Thanks, Will. It's been a great help! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3267834699

Give us your feedback on this new update on Discord or in the Steam Discussions! Stay tuned for the upcoming updates to come.

Giants go Back-to-School on Steam!

Hello Giants,

August is nearly finished and we are part of the Back-To-School event on Steam. This celebration aims to highlight games that have an educational approach and that help people learn about different domains or facts!

For this special event, we also wanted to bring back something we started months ago, even before the game release: the biotica facts sheet! We want you to be part of Reus 2's creation through this Google sheet with all the biotica available in the game. Some biotica still do not have facts on them and await your input! We will choose among your suggestions to implement your facts in the game. Ask your friends to share facts if they have some! Know that there are some rules for this Google Sheet:
 • You can write 1 to 3 facts in total per person, and if you previously wrote the first time, you can again write 3 more facts!
 • Your fact must be 200 characters long maximum
 • Don’t forget to also write your name in the right column so you can be credited
 • You have until Monday 16th of September to submit your facts
 • It can be a fun fact, a serious one, a weird one but please try to avoid any mean/problematic facts
 • And last: HAVE FUN FOR THE GIANTS SAKE!

Nature and its amazing wildlife is at the heart of Reus 2: through the biotica, we wanted to highlight what makes our environment such an interesting place to live and nurture!

Each bioticum has its own effects and features which makes them both unique and essential into the complex ecosystem that is nature. The symbiosis in Reus 2 is also a major aspect that emphasizes the link which can be create between animals, plants and minerals and how these bonds give birth to something totally new!

Stay tuned for the next announcements and upcoming updates!
