Fur, spice, and everything nice… Those were the ingredients chosen to create the
perfect little kitten. But at Unseen Silence, we also totally deliberately added an
extra ingredient to the concoction—absurd amounts of power! Thus, the Ultra
Mega Cats were born, and today, we will take a closer look at their ultra-mega powers
and the gameplay they constitute.



CATS, BUT MAKE THEM OVERPOWERED

For the common house cat, spreading mayhem and destruction is simply inherent. It
is not a bug, it is a feature. To bring it to the ultra-mega level, you need some
additional steps:

• Endow each cat with a unique set of combat and movement abilities
  
• Let them make progress, evolve, and upgrade themselves in a variety of ways
  
• Put them in some extremely able hands (Yeah, that’s you! Right?)
  

Then, apply the cherry on top—the Aspects System, our secret ingredient that makes
the Ultra Mega Cats truly overpowered and keeps the game ever-fresh and exciting
each run. But first… let’s pay a due tribute to the gods.



THE ANCIENT CATS, GODS OF FELINES

It is said that in the beginning, there was chaos. But chaos, like a knocked-over fern
or a broken mug, doesn’t create itself. Indeed, all evidence points out that in the
beginning, there had to be cats. The Ancient Cats, beings embodying the greatest
features of the felines.

• Cheetah, the Incarnate of Swiftness
  
• Jaguar, the Incarnate of Stealth
  
• Lion, the Incarnate of Strength
  
• Tiger, the Incarnate of Fury
  
• [The Mysterious Fifth Cat]
  

The gods created the cat race in their image and likeness and made a heaven for
them to live in. The Ancient Cats could also bless the regular cats with their powers,
making them their champions. The Ultra Mega Cats. You can already see where this
is going, right?

After the terrible attack of other animals, some of the feline gods got imprisoned,
and the regular cats were enslaved. It is now the quest of a few remaining cats to
fight for their freedom.



IT’S SUPER EFFECTIVE! THE ASPECTS SYSTEM

The Aspects are the temporary gods' blessings. Boons, that fill your cat with divine powers to help them get through the dynamically generated rooms that build a biome. They are designed to bring different kinds of overpower to life and support the playstyle that fits you best. Because the Aspects only last for the duration of the run, each game becomes a new experience, garnished with just the right amount of exciting randomness we all love. 🎰

During the run, you will encounter many opportunities to empower your cat's skillset with new skills and possibilities. The Aspects would be found in the Coalition Chests - the Coalition is a family of Aspects coming from the same Ancient Cat and named after them. Each Coalition consists of 10 Aspects with 3 different rarity levels. What’s more, each Aspect can be further upgraded, creating tons of opportunities and options to tinker with. Just pick and mix the Coalitions however you like, and combine the Aspects into amazing builds!

Electricheetah buffs Primary attacks with a chance to emit Lighting Bolts! You can truly transform your cat into a God of Thunder and Rock N Roll.



Call of The Wind is the Ancient Jaguar’s Banner Aura which spawns a Banner in the spot of the first defeated enemy in each room that grants an amazing Dodge Bonus to every friendly character in a 20m radius.



Paws of Rage on the other hand (or paw) not only gives Primary attacks extra Critical Chance, but also grants a chance to spawn Milk Bottles. What did you expect, nectar? It’s feline gods! Milk Bottles provide a powerful bonus of resetting all cooldowns for friendly characters. Refreshing!



As you progress through the biomes and free more Ancient Cats, new sets of Aspects become available. It means more unique builds and even more ways of having fun to discover!

Have you ever heard that nobody is perfect? Scientific evidence from the Biolab says otherwise! The Biolab is an experimental compound swarming with reptiles and amphibians surgically brought to perfection. So pay attention, Cats, because bringing your A-game would be the bare minimum for survival. To succeed? Let’s just say it will have something to do with defeating the conjoined power of both ROBOTS and DINOSAURS.


[h3]CENTER OF APPLIED PERFECTION: BIOLAB[/h3]

The Biolab mission is to bring every animal to its perfect form - at least, that is what the leaflet says. It’s partially true! Wingstitch Spitfire, Biolab’s founder and chief scientist, indeed developed a groundbreaking Augmentation Gel therapy. But here’s the catch, Wingstitch has his own vision of perfection. As a result, countless misguided reptiles and amphibians who entered his clinic are doomed to stay there forever as perfect but willless test subjects. Their only task is to guard the laboratory's most valuable asset and a crucial component of the Augmentation Gel: the blood of a perfect mythological beast, the Ancient Tiger.

Biolab’s environments may seem sterile, but don’t get fooled; prepare for a serious biohazard threat once you enter. Keep away from plants and your own shortcomings at all times!



[h3]Enemies: WHEN MYSTERIOUS GEL MEETS DINOSAUR DESCENDANTS

The Augmentation Gel is truly a magnificent invention. Thanks to the addition of the Ancient Tiger's blood, it has the power to erase all flaws and imperfections. Or maybe all it does is boost one's confidence so much that they no longer consider themselves flawed? Whatever it is, it surely did a good job on Biolab's amphibians and reptiles, bringing their species close to the might their dinosaur relatives once had.

Prepare to face crocodiles with elongated limbs and tortoises so swift they become ninjas. Beware of chunky toads (who were already perfect - but everything can be made even better by giving it a rocket launcher, right?). Keep an eye out for chameleons with improved sight. Oh, and don't underestimate the staff of axolotl doctors; they were specifically trained to spot all deficiencies in their subjects.


[h3]THE ROBOT FIGHT: GEL-A-TRON, THE (UN)HELPFUL ASSISTANT[/h3]

Gel-A-Tron is an assistive robot and Wingstitch Spitfire's right hand... or left, or a foot, or a screwdriver, or whatever is really needed at the time. Gel-A-Tron not only provides the substance during medical procedures but also embodies it as the very essence of its being. Being made out of gel, all Gel-A-Tron talks about is gel, and it fights with… you guessed it, gel.

When threatened, Gel-A-Tron will enter a battle stance, using ranged and melee weapons or creating protective barriers. It can also undergo a Bio Mitosis process, separating a portion of gel that makes up its body to become its ally in battle - Mr. Slime. As if that was not enough, Gel-A-Tron's office itself is a trap, as he can trigger a complete disinfection process within, eradicating any organic matter deemed ‘waste’. This fight will be a sticky situation to deal with!

[h3]THE DINOSAUR FIGHT: WINGSTITCH SPITFIRE, THE CRAZY SCIENTIST[/h3]

Once upon a time, a young Komodo dragon, a descendant of mighty dinosaurs, had a dream. He wished he was a mythical beast himself - a dragon. He became a scientist and developed a unique therapy that made him grow in size and physical might. Then, he implanted a pair of mechanical wings on his back and designed a fire-breathing helmet to wear. Finally, he adopted a new name: Wingstitch Spitfire, a real dragon. Astonished with his metamorphosis, he became obsessed with perfection.

Wingstitch may seem a cold and rational scientist at first glance, but once you manage to get under his skin, prepare for quite a temper tantrum. He will unleash his fury step by step. First, prepare for a showdown of pure physical power. Then, witness the might of a dragon. Last, all hell will break loose… but let’s not spoil the surprise entirely. What is certain is that tickling the dragon’s tail can only end in two ways: you either become a legend or a roast.

[h3]Welcome to Machineland, the land where all your dreams of automated warfare come true… as long as they involve mechanized rodents or marsupials! Don your safety helmet and join us on a factory tour through the first biome of Ultra Mega Cats. Here’s a taste of what our cats will face during their epic journey to restore the feline race to its former glory and become absurdly overpowered in the process.[/h3]

THE MACHINELAND FACILITY



Machineland is a famous arms corporation that specializes in the commercial supply of mechanized rodents and marsupials. Its founder, Theodore — a giant bear, vicious industrialist, and a wannabe general, had an ingenious business idea: why strain budgets by funding soldiers and weapons separately when you could convert soldiers INTO weapons? That's precisely what he did, using the power of the Ancient Lion, whom he captured. We’ll delve into the details later, but one thing is certain; having the power of a feline god of strength at your disposal works magic for the company's revenue.

Upon entering the company premises the Ultra Mega Cats will trigger an immediate alarm and summon endless waves of enemies. Climbing the corporate ladder to reach the upper management levels, where the Ancient Lion is imprisoned, is no small feat!

A FAMILY OF FURY FOES



Machineland’s trade secret is the rodent and marsupial mechanization process. The technique here is simple; take a hair from the divine Lion’s mane, add a battalion of minor fur animals, and a crate of combat equipment, put them together, maybe shake a little, and voilà—a fresh batch of weaponized soldiers is ready for action. Hamster Bombs? Check! Roborabbits? Confirmed. Automated Rats? For sure! Ferret Turrets? You bet. Beaver Saws? Absolutely! All fearless and eager to fight.

However, beware of any contamination. A single misplaced shopping cart or a forgotten set of ballet equipment can lead to some... unusual results. When you see those Beaver Shooters or Koala Ballerinas, you'll know. But don't underestimate these products of mishaps—they are as lethal as the rest of Machineland’s commercial army.

To sum up: brace yourself to face dozens of killer rabbits (like the ones from Monty Python) and other deadly creatures at once!


ELUSIVE MINIBOSS: RAT KING



The Rat King rules over the forgotten bottom level of the Machineland, a dump yard called the Thrash Emporium. All the rats aboard the space factory, even those in Theodore’s army, obey the Rat King’s orders. The Rat King believes rats will outlive all other races and inherit the universe one day. So, the King patiently waits for that moment to come, feeding on scraps and scheming in hiding, surrounded by fumes of garbage and madness.

The Rat King is always accompanied by a swarm of rats, which it can use to attack its enemy, heal itself, or … create a giant hammer out of them. Watch for its cloak too, who knows what hides underneath. Oh, rats, it’s going to be a tough fight!

THE BOSS BEAR: THEODORE



The infamous phrase “the boss wants to see you”' just got even more disturbing. Get ready for a tough business with this boss encounter!

Theodore, the bear, is a ruthless, greedy, exploitative capitalist. He began his career manufacturing buttons and zippers, quickly amassing a fortune. However, his resentment for buttons ran deep. He felt they wielded too much control over him. Craving dominion rather than submission, he dreamt of commanding an army. So, he pivoted his enterprise towards warfare and declared himself the 'Boss General,' 'Warfare Kingpin,' 'Chief Everything Officer,' and 'Machines Overlord,' among other grandiose titles.

Dressed in a suit that mimics a military uniform, complete with medals he has self-bestowed, Theodore wields a rocket launcher suitcase, for you know, heated negotiations. Another asset to beware of is … Theodore’s butt. You may laugh now, but just wait and see the shockwave he can generate just by dropping on it. And, of course, he's never without his legions, always ready at his beck and call. Think carefully if you really want to battle Theodore—you might just get fired!
