Happy Wildwood Wednesday! Welcome back to another special preview of our upcoming Kickstarter campaign rewards. In case you missed it, last week we previewed our early access offerings that will be available for backers. Learn more about joining our closed alpha or beta testing phases here! We’ve also previously showcased the physical rewards bundle, featuring a 10” Krampy plush and the 2-disc soundtrack set. Read all about it here!

Today, we’re discussing two very special in-game pets that you can acquire by backing our campaign on Kickstarter!

The Rainbow Firefly is a dazzling, mythical creature that glows with every color of the rainbow. Legend has it that a Rainbow Firefly lit the first stars in the ancient days.



The Rainbow Firefly is accompanied by several orbs of colorful light that have an affinity for growing things and will lead you to harvestable herbs.

Every Kickstarter backer who pledges at the standard game key tier and above will receive a Steam key for their very own Rainbow Firefly pet that can follow them around on their journeys through the Wildwood!



For our deluxe edition backers, you’ll also receive a key for the very special pet Molbert! Molbert is a cantankerous little mole with an excellent nose. Molbert is accustomed to the dark places of the world and is no stranger to finding rare diamonds in the mines.



Molbert’s keen sense of smell makes them an excellent partner when in the mines. If there are unexcavated diamonds nearby, Molbert may detect them and attempt to notify you.



These two pets can be equipped and unequipped in your accessories menu at any time during gameplay. They are also both prerelease exclusive rewards, so if you want your very own Rainbow Firefly or Molbert, make sure you pledge during our Kickstarter campaign as they will not be made available after the full game launches! The alpha testing phase is a critical part of any game’s journey. In this very early period, features are implemented, bugs are squashed, and feedback can be readily taken into account to help shape the final gameplay experience. Our current plan is for our closed alpha phase to begin in the summer of 2022.



During the beta testing phase, a game is mostly feature-complete but some mechanics may need more testing and development time to provide additional content and polish. Beta testers can expect a near-complete experience and help us track down and eliminate any pesky lingering technical issues or identify areas where content needs to be expanded prior to final release. The current plan is for our beta testing phase to begin sometime in early 2023.




If you are a content creator or member of the press, we want to let you know that our early access testing periods will not be under an NDA or similar agreement. You will be more than welcome to share your experiences with your audience and discuss with others. We are striving to have an open and honest development process in which the community can remain engaged and involved.

After the beta testing period has concluded, we’ll review our release candidate build internally and prepare for the launch of the full game. Currently, we are planning for the game to be made publicly available in Q4 2023 on Steam (Windows, Mac) and Q4 2024 on Nintendo Switch™. We’ll be sure to keep in touch and let everybody know how development is proceeding. When the full game launches on each platform, all standard and deluxe edition backers who did not back for early access will be granted their download keys.

Happy Wildwood Wednesday! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be showcasing a special preview of several of the awesome rewards that will be available to backers of our upcoming Kickstarter campaign. This week, we’re taking a look at the physical rewards bundle! For the first time ever, you can get your paws on a package of officially-licensed Cattails merchandise.



Krampy, everyone’s favorite beaky-mask wearing cat doctor, now has their very own 10” plush! This limited-run commemorative stuffed animal will remind you to always keep your health a top priority. This cute plushy was designed by the talented Dina Norlund and manufactured by our friends at Symbiote Studios.





Take home a physical copy of the original soundtrack, featuring over two hours of kitty-inspired music! This 2-disc set contains the amazing work of composer Tormod Garvin and accompanists Naomi Sullivan and Alex Hill-Knight. It also features beautiful cover art by Nana Qi.
