Update notes: 29-JUN-24

New Features and Improvements

Multi pickup
Added an ability to pick up multiple small items of the same type in a small range. This should cut time spent picking up small items.

Controller navigation improvements
Legibility improvements for lists, with a better indicator of which element is selected. Navigation between buttons is also more intuitive. Nav issues in Workstation Menu Task Creation page fixed.

Save game info
The game saving operation now displays a notification message while saving is in progress. Quitting to main menu and to desktop both now wait for the saving operation to be finished.

FPS cap when booting
Game is booting with an fps limit to avoid useless workload on the GPU

Adjusted navigation links for Longhouse doors
The doors of the Long House and its modules should be a little more lenient when snapping the door navigation links. We've had issues with villagers getting stuck outside the Long House and freezing to death because the doors were not accessible. This should fix those issues, or make them less likely to occur.

Added lootable Villager remains
Villager remains can now be found in the world where a villager died and can also be dismantled

Dog getting attacked now notifies players
Added notification when the dog is attacked. Stray dogs are auto-assigned to a nearby kennel when their guard target is destroyed. Kennel workers now fetch food for guard dogs assigned to their kennel. Dogs are now half as hungry.

Adjustments and Balance

  • Flax Bushes now give more Fibers
  • Increased detection range for Wulfar Traps, allowing traps to be placed further away from Wulfar Dens.
  • Increased the footprint and interaction range for the Kennel.
  • Stone Lantern HP increased.
  • Adjusted Draugar and Skeleton animation attack windows, giving players more time to stagger them.
  • Reduced building decay rates.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused all the storage full complaints to refer to the "Buildstation" instead of the actual Workstation after loading the game with the complaint up.
  • Fixed a bug causing the the vegetation to replenish only near the player instead of the whole world.
  • Fixed a bug that caused a crash when returning to main menu that could also corrupt the save in some cases.
  • Fixed the issues with woodcutters/ warehouse workers stuck floating in the air or underground.
  • Fixed villagers assigned to Watchtower getting stuck when searching for arrows
  • Fixed navigation issues when agents were exiting a building with multiple Nav Links (Longhouses).
  • Fixed a multiplayer issue where terraforming fields from a save would sometimes look invalid for Clients.
  • Fixed a multiplayer issue where water waves would stutter for Clients.
  • Fixed an issue where carts and sleds would dismount randomly.
  • Fixed an issue where the cart/sled button would get stuck on the HUD.

Early Access Hotfix 1

ASKA Hotfix - 1300 CEST 21-JUN-24

Hey Vikings,

We've made a minor change to how game saving is handled. This is in response to the handful of players that saw save game corruption after hitting both different save options in quick succession.

This patch is a single change to eliminate any possibility of save corruption through this method. Your existing save games are not affected.

We are deeply sorry to those who experienced this issue, and have moved as quickly as possible to rectify.

The next fix we're looking at is to auto-assign multiplayer regions by IP (but they will still be possible to override). In the meantime, players are reminded to look for the drop down at the bottom on the screen when you go into the Multiplayer menu.

As a quick reminder, please utilise the bug reporting template pinned in the bug reporting sub-forum for any issues you are having to allow us to properly investigate.

We appreciate all your feedback & are trying to get round to everyone as quickly as we can.
Thank you for making this such a successful launch for us! ❤
