Update Two Date Change

Hey Vikings,

As you know we've been working on lots of new features for you in the next update. We're about done with this work, but we've encountered an issue with save game integrity. We don't feel confident that we have the time to test every eventuality related to this on the current timeline. Save game integrity is of paramount importance in a game like ASKA, and we cannot risk this going out with even the tiniest chance might corrupt your save game.

As such, we’re taking the difficult decision to delay the update one week to October 14th.

The extra time will also allow us to fix extra bugs, in addition to the already-announced features. The features we have already announced are not changing, so you can still look forward to them on the new date.

We really appreciate your patience and how understanding you’ve been about the previous delay already, and we want to make it really clear we’d rather release something late that was properly ready for you instead of rushing it out on Monday and it affecting people’s save games negatively.

Hopefully you can hold out for one more week while we finish testing what we need to, and as a reminder if you have any questions about the new update, you can join our weekly dev stream tomorrow night at 6.30pm BST over at twitch.tv/sandsailorstudio or ask in our forums here, or in Discord.

Roadmap Update & News!

Hi Vikings

We’re more than halfway through September and it's becoming obvious to us that our second Major Update is not going to be quite ready for the end of this month.

Instead of staying silent and leaving you to speculate, we wanted to make sure we were communicating with you about this with honesty and transparency, so we’ve updated our Roadmap to give you a sneak peek of what’s to come!



We can inform you that we’re currently aiming for 7 October as the next major content drop. This date is subject to change, and we will let you know if that is going to be the case, although we are currently hopeful that we can meet this.

The next update will contain quite a few things we think you’ll be delighted with and we hope you can forgive us for pushing it out a little to make sure we can deliver something really solid! You’ll need to wait until nearer the time for more specific details - we wouldn’t want to spoil everything so soon ;)

We hope to continue open communication with you when we can and look forward to giving you more news when we are able to provide it.

17 September Hotfix

Hey Vikings!

In our eagerness to get your something fun out for the weekend, we unwittingly created a few other issues with Friday’s patch - sorry! We’ve been cooking over the weekend and have resolved the following in today’s hotfix:


  • Fixed warehouse workers not finding water in wells
  • Fixed toggle crouch option causing the player to always leave the outhouse crouched
  • Fixed warehouse worker getting stuck when trying to collect raw meat from a meat hunk nearby
  • Warehouse workers no longer sit down after every trip
  • Fixed some resource displays not rearranging when an item is taken
  • Fixed dog hunger not being synced to clients
  • Fixed villager farming & shamanism proficiencies not being synced to clients
  • Fixed villagers getting stuck in the Cottage threshold when trying to warm up.
  • Removed Dyer condition from dye blueprints (was unnecessary)
  • Increased Gate footprints



We’re super sorry for any inconvenience caused by these and want to say thank you for your patience while we worked to resolve them.
If you find any further issues please make sure to report them to us so we can investigate.

We're continuing to work on a number of issues, and we will update you in due course when we are able to. In the meantime please continue to report these to us as the more information we receive the better!
