Sandfall have no plans for more Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 just yet, but "chances are good" anyway

It seems like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is doing quite alright for itself, 'ey? The J'RPG was awarded Rock Paper Shotgun's coveted Bestest Bests badge by our own Nic in his review, and by all accounts it's been received well by most everyone else too. Not that sales matter much in terms of a game's quality, but the fact that it's done well there as well at minimum means the lights are staying on at Sandfall Interactive. In fact it seems things are going better than just keeping the lights on, as it sounds like the developer is considering more of it, whatever that might be.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is selling twice as fast as iconic JRPGs on Steam

When it comes to being the complete surprise package, I think Expedition 33 takes it. The game is so popular that on Steam, despite it being a fresh IP and a debut game from a small studio, it has reportedly sold faster than some of the most notable JRPGs of the last 12 months, such as Metaphor Refantazio and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is the latest game to cause Steam Deck rating outrage

Just when you thought the situation couldn't get any worse for the Steam Deck game rating system, Valve has just trodden on another rake. With Oblivion Remastered still somehow holding a Verified rating, despite widespread criticism of its performance, Valve has now changed the rating of Clair Obscur Expedition 33 from Unsupported to Playable, seemingly just because its settings have been locked on the Steam Deck.

While it may still be the best handheld gaming PC for most players, the Steam Deck and its rating system have come under fire multiple times in the last few weeks, and each time, it has all been entirely unjustified.

Hotfix: NG+ Stonewave Cliffs

We have patched a bug in NG+ where players would be unable to progress their battle with the boss at the end of Stone Wave Cliffs.

We have put this live on Steam -- it will show as Changelist 56323 on the menu screen.
Other platforms will follow in our larger hotfix update soon, as they require additional verification.

We are still working on a variety of fixes and optimisations, but were able to quickly get this live on Steam before the weekend. Stay tuned for further updates next week on upcoming patches.

Tomorrow comes.
