As we ring in the new year, it is time to honour the past year in gaming with CGMagazine’s Game of the Year 2025. In past years, our GOTY has gone to outstanding titles such as Elden Ring, Baldur’s Gate 3 and most recently, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This year, contenders for this award spanned both indie and AAA titles, proving that heading into 2026, the race for GOTY isn’t always dominated by those with the biggest budget.

Some titles that came close, but didn’t quite make the Game of the Year 2025 list this year, which were nominated but ultimately did not earn enough votes, include Arc Raiders, which scored a 9.5 out of 10 according to writer Erik McDowell, DOOM: The Dark Ages, which scored 8.5 out of 10 from writer Matt Keith, and The Outer Worlds 2, which earned a 9 out of 10 from writer Marcus Kenneth.

Студия GamesVoice перенесла выход русской озвучки Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 для ПК. Команда сообщила об этом в ходе «Итогового стрима 2025». Изначально релиз планировали представить до конца декабря, однако теперь окно запуска передвинули на февраль, ориентировочно на середину месяца.

Редакция EDGE подвела итоги уходящего года, выбрав самые значимые релизы. В свежем номере британского журнала опубликована десятка лучших игр, а также разбивка по платформам и номинациям.

Say it with me now: "indie and double-A games dominated the conversation this year." Over the past couple of years, this has started to feel less like an exception and more like the new rule. Yes, there was no shortage of big-money blockbusters in 2025, some of which earned a spot on this list, but from Clair Obscur and Dispatch to Blue Prince and Schedule 1, every month seemed to deliver a 'smaller' game that then gobbled up the lion's share of the online buzz. In fact, I'd wager most folks would never have been able to guess even half of Steam's top ten best-sellers of the year back in January.

Of course, popularity alone doesn't secure you a place among the best PC games, so we've looked back over the past 12 months with discerning eyes to settle on a list of just ten games you really should play. These are the PC games we loved the most in 2025, with entries from across the PCGN crew.
