Halloween story available

To celebrate the spooky month of October, we have added a side storyline for Halloween, where Peppermint visits the Haunted Hinterlands.



Peppermint will have to survive the spooky inhabitants of Haunted Hinterlands in order to uncover the mystery of the portal that opened in her farm. The Halloween story is available in our campaign / story-mode, and also in the classic mode (without a story). Try it out today and let us know what you think!



Changes:
  • Haunted Hinterlands (Halloween world) is now available in both the campaign mode as well as classic mode
  • Added costumes for player characters (use alt, or shoulder gamepad buttons to change costumes)
  • Twitch viewer minions now also have costumes

Playtest available till middle of September



As part of Feedback Quest 7, we have made our Playtest available again!

This playtest will be available until the middle of September, so do try it out and let us know what you think!

We have revamped Peppermint's skills, so now you can have skill combos! For example, egg-splode + cotton candy gives you the following combination:



There are many different combinations you can try out in our playtest! We have also lifted the max level limit, so you can level an unlimited number of times in the playtest, just like you would in the full game.

In addition, we have added a minigame that you can try out, through the Play->Minigame option from the main menu. In the mini-game, you control a squirrel named Caramel who is helping Chestnut save animals:



To join the playtest, click "Request Access" on our store page. You'll instantly receive access and be able to download and play in the playtest!

Playtest available till end of March

As part of Feedback Quest 6, we have made our Playtest available again!

This playtest will be available until the end of March, so do try it out and let us know what you think!

Playtest-only changes:
  • During the game (outside of the farm), you can now change the camera angle! To do so, you can use the right joystick on the gamepad, or right-click and drag the mouse. The camera angle is not currently saved across levels.
  • There are 3 campaign levels available in the playtest, which completes the first story beat of the campaign.
  • Besides Peppermint and Vanilla, Honey the loving dog is also available as a playable character in the campaign (if you unlock her).
  • Eclair is a new shop NPC that you may encounter in the campaign, and she offers unique buffs you can purchase with coins.
  • The Lunar New Year level is disabled for this playtest. If you wish to play that level, you can do so through our demo.
  • We have not completed translations / localization for the new campaign levels, so please do not switch languages during the playtest.


Other changes:
  • Levels can now have alternate objectives, i.e., Do A or B. You may encounter one of more of these in the campaign.
  • Player buffs (e.g., damage, speed, defense etc) are now unique across campaign playthroughs. Coins earned from all games (including classic mode) are cumulative, so any coins you earn anywhere will help future playthroughs.
  • Wolves, being smarter than foxes, now jump in front of the player's position.


Bug fixes
  • Fixed a bug where newly-spawned creatures would run away at the beginning of a level


Update notes for Feb 17 2024

Changes:
  • Rescuing the zodiac animals in Tian Ting now involves rescuing 1 of each type of zodiac animal (rat, ox, etc)
  • Move the status bars (invulnerability, being on fire, speed boost, etc) to the right side of the screen
