Update notes for May 5th 2023



Bug fixes:
  • Fixed a visual bug where player buff options were not highlighted when using the keyboard/gamepad


Changes:
  • Players can now actively dodge damage with the spacebar or gamepad buttons
  • Damage done by players are now visible!
  • Damage done by skills, and received from creatures now has some variance
  • Coins earned from the Alpha demo are now transferred to the Beta playtest
  • A sizzling sound can now be heard when players are on fire
  • In-game menu pops up when the Steam overlay is activated
  • Lightning bolt damage was buffed

Update notes for May 4th 2023

Bug fixes:
  • Fixed a bug where perk selection menu would not show up in rare situations
  • Fixed a bug where loot can drop below the ground if a player teleports


Changes:
  • Menu now appears automatically when the game loses focus
  • Creatures should no longer get pushed by other creatures behind them, if they are charging a skill
  • In multi-player mode, (mini)-bosses now spawn near players who are still alive
  • If a player teleports away during a (mini)-boss fight, the (mini)-boss will teleport to them

Update notes for May 3rd 2023

Bug fixes:
  • Fixed a typo in the welcome message
  • Fixed a bug where minibosses stayed in their running animation while charging an attack
  • Fixed a bug where the HP of summoned minions (e.g., cats, chicks) was too low
  • Fixed a bug where the player would stop accumulating experience points


Changes:
  • Welcome message has been edited to suggest trying out co-op mode 😉
  • Creme Brulee has been buffed and now summons 2 cat minions immediately
  • Kernel Popcorn has been buffed and now summons 5 airstrike birds immediately
  • Dragon Punch damage has been buffed significantly
  • Buffed cat minion's damage

Beta playtest



We have launched our beta playtest! Thanks to those of you who have signed up 😊 Please try out the playtest version, and let us know what you think!

This beta playtest version is in active development, so bugs probably do exist. We are very keen to hear about any bugs that you encounter, so do let us know!

If you're interested to participate in the playtest, please click "Request access" above, and you should be granted access immediately. Our playtest is set to "Open" so all requests are automatically approved.

The playtest version doesn't have all the features of the beta yet (we're still developing some of them), but it does have the following:
  • Multiplayer (local co-op and online with Steam Remote play-together)
  • More skills to choose from
  • A boss fight after the 3 minibosses
  • Customizable difficulty
  • and more!

Beta version coming soon!



We are hard at work preparing for the beta launch of Feisty Fauna! We will be releasing many new features, including:
  • split-screen multiplayer (up to 4 players, local / Steam remote play-together)
  • cat ninja minions for Vanilla
  • many more skills
  • customizable difficulty, so you can adjust the game to be just right for you
  • damage-over-time effects (e.g., burning from fire)
  • better telegraphing of attacks (e.g., a circle filling up with red)

and more!

As part of our beta launch, we will be removing the following from our demo:
  • Halloween world and costumes (don't worry, they'll be back later this year!)


Going forward from our beta launch, here are some of the big features we're planning to incorporate soon:
  • Honey will be playable and can charm enemies to join her side
  • A roll/dodge mechanic that you can manually activate (or automatically if you prefer)
  • Other status effects, e.g., freezing, slime
