Update 1_1_1 (Minor)

Quick lil' update to fix some issues we didn't catch in testing.

 • Fixed issue with players sometimes getting stuck when finishing/quitting a Gauntlet run
 • Fixed issue with Heelers getting players stuck in walls

Grimzo's Gauntlet is here!
The Gauntlet is here!
An unassuming wall crumbles away in the Barclay Reserve Rapid Transit station to reveal a strange prototype machine named Boxler. It has a strange story to tell, of an inventor named Grimzo locked away in a forgotten dream and that it was sent to ready Lynn for a dangerous quest to free Grimzo.

The Gauntlet provides a remix experience of the Soul King maps you've grown to love (and sometimes hate) providing both on-demand remixed levels as well as a weekly competitive remix that allows you to compete with other players for leaderboard placement. Each of these generated levels includes all-new finales with challenge-focused final maps that are sure to push your skills and our tools to the max, as well as small story connections that hint at what may be in store for Lynn in her next quest.

The Gauntlet is a whole new way to play Soul King, and is available for all Soul King players today!!

Update 1_0_11

A wild patch has appeared!

There's nothing too huge in this one, but we've been hard at work on new stuff and we wanted to get all these changes pushed out to everyone before we really lock-in on our new expansion content.

Changes in this update:
 • Fixed some inconsistent Tea interactions
 • Reduced base wall-speed slightly (2.5 pps -> 2.2 pps)
 • Offhand Reloads now only pause when you switch back to a weapon
 • Smoothed out bumping into walls (still will slow you down, but less bump/reduction)
 • Added Helper Coffee (included in Dynamic Difficulty, spawns a powerfull Coffee pickup to help out players who are struggling)
 • Ammo Pickups now accellerate reloading and offhand reloading by more
 • Added Quick-Turn (For controller and Keyb-only players, turns the player 180 degrees in 1/3 a second)
 • Fake Lighting (Players viewmodel and enemies are now recolored to mimic lighting changes, real basic stuff)
 • Fixed Several spelling issues
 • Keyboard/Gamepad control checks are now done consistently through play, not just when the game boots
 • Fullscreen is now default for new players (sorry, that was a rookie mistake)

Sale King!

First things first, we've putting Soul King on sale for 35% off during Steam's Winter Sale (Dec 21 - Jan 4)! If you've been dragging your feet on getting Soul King there's no time like the present! We don't anticipate dropping the price this low for quite a while!

In other exciting news, we've been hard at work on a new mode that we'll be launching at the end of January! The Gauntlet will launch on January 28 and will provide a remix experience of the Soul King maps you've grown to love (and sometimes hate) providing both on-demand remixed levels as well as a weekly competitive remix that allows you to compete with other players for leaderboard placement. Each of these remixed levels includes all-new finales with challenge focused final maps that are sure to push your skills and our tools to the max.

The Gauntlet is squarely focused on providing greater environmental replayability to Soul King, but we're not leaving the story nerds high and dry. The Gauntlet also serves as a soft-setup for our NEXT batch of new story content, which we expect to be available in Early April 2024.
