Hey there Feline Friends! 👋😸

Today we're thrilled to begin a new series of Steam posts titled 'Feline Features', where we look into a specific aspect of our kitty online party-game's game mechanics! To kickstart this series in today's steam post, we'll be covering the movement mechanics of Jumping Jazz Cats!

To have a purr-fect party experience with our game, we recommend playing Jumping Jazz Cats with a controller! However, Jumping Jazz Cats can be experienced on controller and mouse and keyboard. In the post below, we've added Keyboard & Mouse but our game can also be experienced with the gamepad of your choice.

[h2]Feline Features 1 | Moving & Zooming[/h2]
We'll be starting with the very basic movements like Moving, Sprinting, and Jumping before venturing to the more exciting in-game actions like Charge Jumps, Nuzzles, and Pouncing!

So let's begin with how to move your character:
[h3]Move[/h3]
To move your kitty character, use WASD.

[h3]Sprint[/h3]
Press and hold Left Shift whilst moving to sprint. Sprinting depletes your stamina.

Your stamina is represented by the musical note on the lower part of the screen.

[h3]Jump[/h3]
Press Space to jump.

You can also perform a wall jump by jumping towards a wall, then as you land on it, jump off in a different direction!

[h3]Catnap[/h3]
Hold Q to catnap. This will recharge your stamina bar.

Catnap until your treble clef to the left of your stamina bar is full to gain an item to use.

Recharge you stamina even faster by catnapping in warm or brightly-lit spots!

[h3]Air Dive[/h3]
Jump then press Left Mouse Button in midair to perform a air dive.

[h3]Grab & Throw[/h3]
Press Middle Mouse Button to grab an object. Press Middle Mouse Button again to throw it.

Hold Middle Mouse Button while carrying an item to aim before throwing.

[h3]Climb[/h3]
Move towards a climable surface, then use WASD Keys to climb.

[h3]Charge Jump[/h3]
Hold Space while standing still to charge your jump. Then release Space to perform the charge jump.

Time your charge jump perfectly to create a spring. This item will give your team a vertical boost!

[h3]Nuzzle[/h3]
Press Middle Mouse Button to show you're ready to nuzzle.

If another cat does the same nearby, your nuzzling will create an item for you both!

[h3]Pounce[/h3]
Press Left Mouse Button to pounce.

Use pouncing during the pots Chorus Minigame to break them!

Hey all,

We’ve made the decision to move the release of Jumping Jazz Cats, which will now launch later this year.

Firstly, we want to apologise to our community— we understand this is not the news you want to hear.
 
Releasing later in 2025 provides us with the time to polish Jumping Jazz Cats and create the best possible launch for the game we’ve been developing for the past three years. This was a tough decision, but one made to ensure we provide you with the best online party game experience.
 
Before our launch, we’ll be releasing a demo of Jumping Jazz Cats on Steam, allowing you to meet our feline friends and get a hands-on experience with our online party game. Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing more details about our Steam demo, the game's features, and updates about our pawsome cats in the lead-up to our launch later in 2025.

[h3]Jumping Jazz Cats - Key Features:[/h3]
🏠 Explore six varied levels: Jumping Jazz Cats blends co-operative and competitive strategies together, to create a cat party game like no-other! Each level has different objectives, some requiring you to work together with your team mates and others to get the highest score possible to claim a victory over the other team. Our minigames include Gimme Yarn, Cat Tree Capture, Fat Cat, and more which will be revealed soon!



🐈‍⬛ Customise your dream kitty: In our customisation menu, you’ll find Pussycat Presets to select from and play as! There’s 40+ cat breeds/designs to play as, so many purr-fect cats! Once you’ve selected a preset, you can customise your cats fur colour, face shape, eyes and body to create your perfect feline friend!



😼 Chaotic online play: Jump into rounds of minigames for 2-9 players online! Levels can be mixed and matched as each level can be paired with a varied chorus gameplay song, giving a different experience every time you play each minigame!



4️⃣ Play locally via 4 player co-op or solo-play trials: Want to play with your friends via couch co-op? We've got you! Jumping Jazz Cats is playable via four player local split-screen away from our online play. Or if you want to play on your own, our game has a Solo Trials mode for single-player games!



🎷So much Jazz: Find 10 original Jazz tracks in Jumping Jazz Cats! These Jazz tracks occur in our gameplay chorus songs to provide a different experience every time you play each minigame!

[h2]😼 40+ Kitty Presets[/h2]
In our customisation menu, you’ll find Pussycat Presets to select from and play as! The more games of Jumping Jazz Cats that you play, the more golden bugs you’ll earn. Spend your bugs to unlock different cat customisation cosmetics or spend them to unlock a new cat preset!

There’s 40+ cat breeds/designs to play as, so many purr-fect cats! Once you’ve selected a preset, you can customise your cat in our three tabs, body, fur and face.


[h2]Customisation Menu - Body[/h2]
In the Body section, you can adjust your cats overall size, along with tail width and length. Use this menu to create the cutest and fluffiest cat possible!


[h2]Customisation Menu - Fur[/h2]
The Fur menu contains multiple colour options to select from! From fur base colour, to eye colour adjustments, to changing belly fluff colour. The colour options allow for you to create a unique furball to play as!


[h2]Customisation Menu - Face[/h2]
The Face menu contains adjustments to the sizing of your kittycats head, ears and eyes. This tab also features options to alter your cats eye positioning, head height and the colour of your kitties eyes!


[h2]💾 Save Customised Presets[/h2]
Once you’ve perfected your kitty’s design, you can save it as a customised preset! There are nine presets spaces in Jumping Jazz Cats. We've added nine presets to allow you to save multiple kitty creations at once, whilst still having the option to create more kittycats.

We hope you’re excited to create your dream feline friend or even customise your in-game kitty to look like own pet cat in Jumping Jazz Cats. We cannot wait to see your kitty creations in our cat customisation menu and hope your excited to jump in and customise your own cats when Jumping Jazz Cats launches on Steam!

Two weeks ago, we announced Jumping Jazz Cats, an upcoming paw-some online party game to play with your friends! ICYMI, Jumping Jazz Cats is coming soon to Steam and can be played online for 2-9 players, offline in singleplayer trials or played locally via 4 player split screen.

You’ll play as a cat, diving, bouncing and grinding around the jazzy cartoon mansion of Ellington Estate!
