Is Simon There? News

A few months later!

Hello, everyone. I hope you are all doing well on your end.

Just like that, it's been over 2 months since the release of Is Simon There? And just like all my other games, I always like to give you all an update on how the game is doing, some feedback I was given, and what I plan on doing going forward.

So how is the game doing?

Well, let me start off by saying that Is Simon There? is doing fairly well. Many of you appear to really enjoy what the game has to offer - its simplicity and attention to creating a terrifying environment. Now, of course, the game may have been a little "too" simple, but none the less, I think it turned out well, and I am happy to see that many of you enjoy it, too.

And the Easter Egg! I am also happy to see that many of you liked the secret little egg in the game. It is definitely a goal of mine to include some sort of egg in every game, so I definitely wont be changing anything there :)

Overall, Is Simon There? is doing fairly well. It is maintaining a fair volume of sales, the reviews are spectacular, and the feedback I am given is also very wonderful. And to that, I want to thank you all for your continued support and sticking by my side when creating these projects. It truly means a lot to me.

What's the plan going forward?

I recently got a new job in accounting again so I will not have the time to pump out games like I was normally planning (3ish games per year) But I do think I will be able to pump out 1 game a year (as per normal). Time is definitely a tricky thing with work and potentially studying for the CFA... but I am sure I will be able to figure something out.

In terms of new projects, my next game (in the planning stages) will be like my previous game Money Maker (free on Steam). HOWEVER, it will be like Money Maker but with a crap-ton of horror in it. I don't want to say too much in terms of story or game play since it is still super early, but that is kinda what I am steering towards. I am sure 99% of you have no idea what Money Maker is, but I believe adding significant horror to that style of game will be wonderous!

As always, I want to thank you all for sticking around and taking the time to glance over this quick memo. I hope to begin working on my new game soon, and with that said, I hope to begin posting some screenshots in Q4 (one can only hope...).

Cheers, everyone and happy gaming.

Is Simon There? is now Live!

I am very happy to announce that Is Simon There? is now available on Steam.

As always, all feedback is greatly appreciated. If you play the game, please provide a review with your honest feedback. All feedback is used in the production of upcoming games.

And finally, as I said before, I will be taking some time off to research some new game mechanics / systems. I am hoping to begin creating some new content going forward.

Thank you very much, everybody. I genuinely hope you enjoy Is Simon There?!

Have a fantastic weekend.

Is Simon There? is coming tomorrow!

Hello, everybody. I hope you are all doing very well.

I wanted to let you all know that my latest horror Is Simon There? will be releasing tomorrow at 10am PST / 11am Mountain time.

Is Simon There? will be slightly different from some of my more recent releases (i.e. Within Skerry and Inside Depth 6) in that it will focus primarily on creating an atmosphere for the player to dive into.

Is Simon There? will have fewer required puzzles (excluding optional puzzles) and fewer "aimless, eventless wandering". My goal is to tell a story while keeping you on the edge of your seat, while anticipating the next event to happen.

Of course, like my previous games, Is Simon There? will include 3 endings and 1 Easter Egg/ special ending. I've toned the difficulty of these optional puzzles down a little so that the vast majority of players can experience all the game has to offer without relying on too many guides.

AND finally, no more getting knocked-out black screens. Nothing but silky smooth progression, a dark story, a neat little Easter Egg, and a hand full of intuitive puzzles to keep you thinking, throughout the 40 minute long journey.

Once again, Is Simon There? will be releasing tomorrow (May 06, 2022). And as always, if you play the game, please leave an honest review. I would love to know what you enjoyed and disliked about the game.

Once Is Simon There? has been published, I will be spending some time researching new mechanics / systems to implement into new games (i.e. controller support, advanced AI, potential VR, etc)

Cheers, everybody!

Weekly Update #2

Hello, everyone.

It's crazy how it's already been over a week. Time flys...

I just wanted to let you all know that development is going very well. Both endings 1 and 2 have been fully completed. The last thing I am working on is Ending 3! Once Ending 3 has been completed, it will be time to do some aggressive testing.

Once again, I am well on schedule for the May 6th release date. I hope to have Is Simon There? 100% complete by May 2nd so that I can spend the next few days testing.

A few outstanding items that need to be completed:
- Achievements,
- Ending 3,
- Final optional puzzles,
- Final environmental / indoor asset placements,
- Final translations,
- Testing,
- Bug fixes.

We are almost there, everybody! And I am greatly looking forward to seeing your reactions on this one :)

Cheers,

Stan. T

Weekly Update 1

Hello everybody. I hope you are all doing excellent!

I just wanted to post a quick update discussing the current state of Is Simon There?

Firstly, let me start off by saying that development is going very well and very smoothly. Everything is going as planned.

Regarding story line, I have finalised the story and am actually quite happy with it. I have also completed developing Ending 1 of the game - two to go :)

As previously mentioned in another announcement, I said that ending 2 will be quite a different experience in comparison to Ending 1 and 3. However, I shuffled a few things around and found it to be more appropriate to have Ending 3 take that place. As such, endings 1 and 2 will follow the original story line and ending 3 will be some wildcard.

I also added a couple new settings to the game. What do you think about a head bob toggle? I've received a few complaints in Within Skerry regarding the head bob motion making some players sick; so I added the ability to disable that bobbing motion.

Honestly, at this point in time, I believe I will have Is Simon There? 100% complete in about 10-12 working days. That should give me ample time to test the game out and make sure no bugs roam the halls.

I think that's all I have for now. Thank you, everybody!
