Demeo Battles Game Update

Greetings, champions!

An exciting update has been released, here’s everything you need to know. Now, players will now be able to reach a new max level of 25. We have also added a new page to the catalog, consisting of one NEW MAP, three NEW SKINS and one NEW TOMBSTONE! But it doesn’t stop there, a news section has been added for updates, the library has received some holiday cheer and an Oculus 2D/Rift VR version of the game is now available.

Bug and UI/UX
  • Post game flow and animations have received some polish
  • VR Settings Menu UI polish
  • Team chat now available while shopping
  • UI updated when placing units - can now see which players have readied up and which are still shopping/placing
  • Card visuals have been overhauled
  • Tombstone team colors have been updated for readability
  • Single player menu has received some polish
  • Notifications will occur when players unlock a new page of the catalog
  • The hurricane summoned by Hurricane Anthem is no longer affected by the Burn.
  • The Leviathan will now be properly targeted and attacked by creatures.
  • Elven Summoner has updated AI, and will no longer treat heroes on the same team as enemies.
  • Fixed bug that prevented a unit from showing both how much Bark Armor and Magic Armor it has at the same time.
  • Fixed bug that prevented Mark of Varga to take armor/magic armor into account when doing damage calculations.
  • Stellar Strike will no longer hit downed heroes, making aiming with it more reliable.
  • Fixed bug that would cause certain monster abilities to break the monster turn music.


Other Notes
  • Locally stored data is no longer shared among all player accounts
  • Show the equipped item highlight in the inventory (non-VR)

2.2 Patch Released

Greetings, Champions!

We have just released a patch update that addresses many areas of the game - including bringing more ability cards into the current rotation!

  • Opponent's position will no longer be revealed if their hand is full when receiving a card.
  • Elven Priest's Draining Kiss ability targeting should no longer target Stealthed/Downed targets, or targets outside line of sight.The ability now immediately revives a downed recipient rather than being delayed to the target's turn.
  • AI Bards should no longer use Courage Shanty on themselves.
  • AI Warlocks check if the correct target HP is half or lower when using Consuming Vortex.
  • Skipping turns now works properly in VR.
  • Fixed bug that caused the game to crash if a tombstone was attacked under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed rats desyncing in a multiplayer match when spawned in via abilities.
  • Requirements for unlocking single player stars can now be viewed both before and after a single player game.
  • Units can no longer end up out of bounds in Cesspool of Despair.
  • Units using the Buildup ability now cancel their targeting if there is no visible target available, rather than attacking stealthed targets or empty tiles.
  • All tombstone skins should now display their HP UI properly.
  • General UI polish.
  • General improvements to single player AI.
  • The Unheard One's invincibility buff now ticks at the end of a turn rather than at the start.
  • Slimes can no longer survive Bottles of Lye if they have defensive buffs such as Courage or Magic Shield.
  • Revised which cards can appear in chests and be drawn between the rounds.
  • Made more of the Warlock’s cards available in the shop

Matchmaking Issue Resolved



Hi Champions,

We are aware of the extended period of downtime that affected Quickplay and public matchmaking on Friday night - the issue has now been resolved, and we are monitoring it to do our best to prevent it reocurring.

Day One Patch Notes



Hi Champions,

We just released a day one patch that fixed the following things:

General
  • Improved information shown when queueing for a Quickplay session
  • Updated UI for various game areas, including adding clearer UI to Hero Select and the Shop when one player is controlling both heroes
  • AI controlled heroes have had numerous bug fixes that sometimes caused them to break the rules of the game
  • AI controlled heroes have received improved AI for targeting board pieces as well as certain cards so they use their actions more sensibly
  • Numerous fixes to the Slime Fusion AI
  • Fixed bug that made stealth effects on AI players sometimes not function visually
  • Minor spelling and grammar tweaks


VR-Specific
  • Solved issue with position of the arena geometry intersecting with the character selection box/shop
  • Added support for additional languages: German, French, Spanish (Spain), Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional)
  • Made improvements to hand tracking experience, especially when using menus
  • Experience and keys are now awarded for all match types - - this includes retroactively awarding them to players who have completed single player missions
