Banner shield 12 -> 14 block common -> uncommon 1 -> 2 forge slots
Magic Syrup - rare -> uncommon
Daughter's Diary -> now costs 1 mana to summon
Tape Carving -> now natural
Illusory Tape -> use costs 1 energy -> discards and discards all adjacent carvings
Toadstool Sword - rare -> uncommon
Wiz Buckler - uncommon -> rare
Milk Cap - rare -> uncommon
Brother's Bow -> now a Kin type
Lifeforce Wand -> now a weapon type
Swamp Bangle -> now an accessory
Mushroom Wand -> now free to summon + 1 mana to use
Wooden Shiv - 4->5 damage +1 damage on use until discard
Thorn Shiv - 1 -> 0 energy to summon. 3 damage +3 on use until discard
Dreaming Sword 3 -> 2 damage per carving played this combat
Mossy Carving - now is used to discard
Mossy Mace - 1 -> 2 forge slots
Tree Shield - 1 -> 2 forge slots - 12 -> 14 block
Mushroom Axe -> now 3 forge slots
Cherry Bomb -> now 1 forge slot
Druid Wand -> now 2 forge slots
Energy Carving -> now 1 forge slot
Ethereal Quiver -> now 1 forge slot
Green Heart -> now 1 forge slot
Mushroom Wand -> now 1 forge slot
Rose Arrow -> now 1 forge slot

Bug Fixes:
Fixed a glitch where the head of the Mushroom Axe wouldn't work
Fixed a glitch with the Mossy Mace effect displaying twice
Fixed a glitch where changing the language would adjust the screen resolution
Fixed a glitch where the orange border around some items was too large

Bug Fixes:
Fixed a glitch where Tote could not take any carvings in hard mode
Fixed a glitch where some bonuses could be counted twice, such as on arrows
Fixed a glitch where the Archer's Wand would not display its card
Fixed a glitch where some items would not use their "On Discard" effect properly

Fixed a glitch where highlights would not appear on some items
Fixed several UI glitches
Fixed an issue with the spirit book that made it unusable
Fixed an issue where some item effects were incorrectly attributed to the acorn cap
Fixed an issue with the druid staff, where it would soft-lock the game
Fixed a glitch where you couldnt return or sell some carvings including the cosmic crossbow, the crystal dragonfly,
Fixed the Toadstool sword, which had no forge slots
Fixed a glitch where disabling curses wouldn't disable some effects
You can no longer level-up while in battle
The ballista is now a weapon and uses the archery animation
Fixed a glitch where you could soft-lock the main menu by spam-clicking

Town gameplay will add essential depth to the core of Backpack Hero, weaving all heroes, items, and complexity together as you progress through the dungeons! Plus, you'll get to design your own space for everyone to call home.

We've updated our Early Access roadmap, here's what you can expect on the road to 1.0! We hope the coming months will be exciting as we focus on more character reworks, balance, polish, Kickstarter rewards, and continuing to improve Backpack Hero with your feedback!

Tetris-infused roguelike Backpack Hero is leaving early access in May


Roguelike dungeon crawler Backpack Hero has been in early access for under a year, and it’s now getting a full 1.0 launch on PC and consoles in May. Backpack Hero has been successful for its three-person dev team and stood apart from other roguelikes with its Tetris-inspired inventory management. You see, success in Backpack Hero is determined by how you organise your bag rather than what you’re actually carrying, as you shuffle items around a grid to create synergies and mod your playstyle.
