A new update is here! We’ve been working hard on the 1.0 release, so we’re especially excited to finally give you something big in the meantime!

[h3]What’s waiting for you?[/h3]
💎 Totally redesigned relics with changed effects, and some new ones
🦨 New events featuring the capybara and the possum
👻 Ghostly items - they can’t be detected in your backpack by other items, so you can create amazing synergies
🐭 Atlas items can now be organized by character
🗡️ Several new items (including the wooden knife)
🤖 CR-8 can now benefit from energy-giving items - they will add energy to the core
🐰 Matthew has been redesigned - you’ll get different items from him now
🪄 Improved performance and bug fixes for mana networks
🎵 New sound effects
🚪 New art for different doorways


[h3]What can you expect next?[/h3]
We’re finally working on mod support! It’s super exciting, seeing how many cool new items will be available in the game! We hope to make it available sometime in August. If everything goes well, other kinds of mods will be supported too. New enemies? Custom dungeons? You name it! But that’s for later 🐭

Other than that, we’re constantly working hard on the story mode. Thanks to our testers’ feedback we know that we still need to make a few changes. We've already closed the tester survey, and we wanted to thank you all for filling it out - the number of responses exceeded our wildest expectations! We definitely need a while to process your applications, but keep an eye out for an email from us 📧

Lately we've been working hard on making story mode a reality and now we need you to help us by testing it! Whether you're a seasoned Backpacker or haven't played Backpack Hero yet, it doesn't matter - your feedback will give us the right direction to improve Haversack Hill 🏘️

You'll get to see how meta progression works. The items you bring from the dungeons after every run will help you rebuild the town and bring it back to its former glory. You'll also meet Haversack Hill's residents, hear their stories and discover Backpack Hero's lore!

Story mode is an important part of Backpack Hero's 1.0 release. It will make a big difference, expand the gameplay, and add more depth, so we really want to make it right!



If you don't have Backpack Hero in your Steam library yet and want to test it, we have some town keys to give away! 🗝️
