Hey everyone, today we'd like you to fill out the Backpack Hero Feedback Form!

We want to make this game the best in can be, and to do that we'd like to know exactly what parts of the game you think needs improvement! Are there aspects of the game that you feel like aren't as good as they should be? Do you think some of the recent updates gone in the wrong direction? Let us know!



Feedback is very important when making a game, and we want to make sure everyone's voice is heard. We'll be using this feedback to make adjustments! Our next update plans to drastically reduce curses. So if you love them, let us know before they're gone!

[h2]Hey, Backpackers! [/h2]

The day you've all been waiting for has finally come! Backpack Hero now officially supports mods! 🎉 Mod support is live now on the public testing branch! You can find more information about changing branches here!

The very first mod for the game has been created by the awesome Farlands group, and it's a big one! It brings in hundreds of new items that will add a ton of fun to your dungeon runs. You can easily add the mod to your game by subscribing to it on the Steam workshop 🔨

We're planning to expand the modding possibilities even further down the road. So start brainstorming your ideas to make your journey as a Backpack Hero even more exciting!

Bug fixes from the last update!

Updated translations - specifically Korean and Chinese

Bug Fixes:
Fixed a glitch where the cotton didn't save properly
Fixed a glitch where destroying multiple hazards would trigger end-of-combat effects multiple times
Fixed a glitch where item spaces could be improperly saved leading to CR8 charges being deactivated
You can no longer move on the map while viewing events or the options menu (should fix some associated glitches)
Fixed a glitch with item-creation items. Should be able to use coral and old-log appropriately now.
You can no longer "fire blank energy" after reorganizing or losing energy as CR8. The energy puff will just go away - ending your turn
Improved a delay when you have lots of items in your inventory that was effecting some players
Added another safe-guard to prevent out-of-alignment loading
You can no longer drag items while viewing options and other pop-ups

A new update is here! We’ve been working hard on the 1.0 release, so we’re especially excited to finally give you something big in the meantime!

💎 Totally redesigned relics with changed effects, and some new ones
🦨 New events featuring the capybara and the possum
👻 Ghostly items - they can’t be detected in your backpack by other items, so you can create amazing synergies
🐭 Atlas items can now be organized by character
🗡️ Several new items (including the wooden knife)
🤖 CR-8 can now benefit from energy-giving items - they will add energy to the core
🐰 Matthew has been redesigned - you’ll get different items from him now
🪄 Improved performance and bug fixes for mana networks
🎵 New sound effects
🚪 New art for different doorways


[h3]What can you expect next?[/h3]
We’re finally working on mod support! It’s super exciting, seeing how many cool new items will be available in the game! We hope to make it available sometime in August. If everything goes well, other kinds of mods will be supported too. New enemies? Custom dungeons? You name it! But that’s for later 🐭

Other than that, we’re constantly working hard on the story mode. Thanks to our testers’ feedback we know that we still need to make a few changes. We've already closed the tester survey, and we wanted to thank you all for filling it out - the number of responses exceeded our wildest expectations! We definitely need a while to process your applications, but keep an eye out for an email from us 📧
