Public Testing: Steamworks 10

Hello Realmers,

In this week’s public testing, you will have the opportunity to see a glimpse of our new feature - Dungeon Difficulties.

We have already explained briefly, but for those who missed it - This is a new system we will be introducing to stretch the lifetime of dungeons in a player’s journey. It will offer veteran players a chance to push their limits and seek out greater rewards, such as engravings.
Difficulty 10 Steamworks

We will introduce the new difficulty dungeons gradually and Steamworks will be the first dungeon to get a more difficult version.

For simplicity, we will call the harder version of Steamworks - Difficulty 10 Steamworks. The goal is to be of a similar level to the Shatters once the work on it is completed.

Difficulty 10 Steamworks consists of a 15 % increase in the HP of all enemies and a 25 % increase in the damage of projectiles. On top of this, you will see various changes to the behaviors of enemies, obstacles and a new survival phase at the end of the Boss fight.

This will be the first of a few Public Testing and it’s important to understand that this is still a work in progress so your feedback will be appreciated and help to shape the feature!

Some of our next dungeons on the list for getting new harder versions are Nest, Lost Halls, and Fungal Cavern.

We anticipate launching this system prior to the Realm Rework, but it should truly shine once the Realm Rework is in effect. Until then, we plan for encounters to drop both Normal and Harder versions for the newly revised dungeons with higher difficulty tiers. A new key will also be introduced for the Difficulty 10 versions of these dungeons.

When the system is fully developed, a lot of the dungeons can have more than just the base difficulty. Some of them can have an easier or harder setting, or perhaps both. The system will be complimentary to Realm Rework and you will be able to find different difficulty-level dungeons in different parts of the realm. This way, you can choose the level of challenge that suits your skill and mood!

As part of this Public Testing, we invite you to explore the following portals in Nexus: the Difficulty 10 Steamworks and the Difficulty 10 Steamworks Boss Room. Enjoy and let us know your thoughts!

Public Testing: New Season

Testing Realmers!

It has been some weeks since the last public testing session. With the current Season coming to an end soon, it is time to look at the next one coming up in a short while. This weekend you will be able to have a first look at the new Battle Pass, the new Missions (including a new mission type where you can choose the reward), and quests. We are also going to introduce a new Seasonal Spoils (chest) to the game. Stay tuned.

Seasonal Spoils (chest)
As most of you are aware, we had some serious issues with the database load in the past, resulting in issues like the Vault bug. In order to lower the risk of such problems in the future, we are introducing a new Gift Chest to the game. This new Seasonal Spoils (chest) will appear after the end of a season and will hold all your seasonal items when they get transferred. The items will be stored in the chest until the next season ends. After that, they will be deleted, which means you have several months time to move all your items over to your regular Vault. While we understand that not everyone likes to lose some items, it is necessary to go forward with this to ensure that we can lower the risk of potential issues in the future.

TLDR:
Season 1 Ends -> Items go to Seasonal Gift Chest -> Season 2 Starts -> Items in Seasonal Gift Chest are available until Season 2 Ends -> Season 2 Ends, all Season 1 Items in the Seasonal Gift Chest get deleted -> Season 2 Items get moved into Seasonal Gift Chest.
To test this feature, we will have 2 seasons running over the weekend. One will already be active when you access the servers, the other will be active on Saturday until Monday.

This weekend we are going to have a first look at one of our new upcoming features “Enchantments” and the new one-room dungeon “The Tavern”. Update 3.3.7.0 – O3 and Moonlight Village

Realmers!
Easter and its events are coming to an end. We had a full month of Events and a community campaign and it's now time to move forward with the next update. You already tested some of the changes coming up to Realm of the Mad God, like the O3 changes and Moonlight Villages adjustments. Additionally, our newest STs for the Priest and Ninja now drop from specific dungeons. To celebrate this we are hosting events in them. The April Fool Skins will be removed with this update.

For a full overview of the changes, have a look at our blog post.
