Friday News: Tweaking Dungeons
Hey curious Realmers,
You liked spoilers, we like spoilers… seems like a good match! Today we want to tell you about the changes we are making to some of your favorite dungeons.
We are introducing a variety of polish, balance and quality of life changes, focused mainly on endgame dungeons.

Check out the blog to get to know what all the changes will be.

New event: 1.5x the loot and xp!

Hello Realmers,
Oryx is feeling generous today and there are dungeons dropping 1.5x the loot. You can also get blueprints and start forging new items on Item forge.
Tomb of the Ancients and Parasite Chambers will be dropping 1.5x the loot and XP from 01-21-2021, 12:00 UTC to 01-25-2021, 12:00 UTC.
But that’s not all: you will have the chance to circumvent randomness and acquire some Superior Blueprints for marks from these dungeons, as well as a previously unobtainable Paramount one.

For the duration of the event you will be able to complete the following Tinkerer quests:
 • Infested Assembly: Exchange 3 x Mark of Geb and 3 x Mark of Parasitic Horrors for a Blueprint of choice: Blueprint 39, Blueprint 41 or Blueprint 43 (Repeatable)
 • Ancient Crafts: Exchange 3 x Mark of Geb, 3 x Mark of Parasitic Horrors and 2 x Mark of Oryx to obtain Blueprint 26 (Once per account)

With these blueprints you will be able to forge (or reduce the forgefire costs for, in case you get more than one):
 • Blueprint 39 unlocks: Demon Blade, Esben's Shaman Attire, Conducting Wand
 • Blueprint 41 unlocks: Sealed Crystal Skull, Snake Charmer Pungi, Spectral Cloth Armor
 • Blueprint 43 unlocks: Ring of the Sphinx, Candy-Coated Armor, Scholar's Seal
 • Blueprint 26 unlocks: Orb of Aether, Celestial Blade, Spell of Recurring Terror
Update:
We would like to assure you that our team is working on fixing the disconnections that have been happening. Thank you.

Speedrun on Testing!

“I feel the need, the need for speed” - Remember this iconic quote from Tom Cruise’s first Top Gun movie? Well, we do. And we do feel the need for speed inside the realm too. So we decided to organize a Speedrun Competition on Testing this weekend. Who will be the “Maverick” of RotMG? The competition will start on Friday, the 15th at 15:00 UTC, and finish on Monday, the 18th, at 08:00 UTC.

Check out all the details at our blog post.

Patch 1.3.0.2 - Long live Oryx
Hello Realmers,
Oryxmas is over. Long live Oryx. 2021 looks brighter than ever. This is a small update to have the Realm return to normal, make some Item Forge adjustments and fix some minor issues. Please remember that although the Oryxmas Campaign is over, you still have until Jan 14th (Thursday) at 12 PM UTC to claim all the rewards that you have unlocked. This week we are announcing a Speedrun contest that will take place on the Testing server during the weekend, but we’ll give you more details on that on our Thursday blog post.
Item forge tweaks:
• Adjusted daily Forgefire charged value to 300.

We plan on adding new high-end items to the Item Forge, but at the same time we are gathering data and trying to adjust and balance the values of materials. We realized we will need a new tier for these high-end items, which will require more materials. This will happen in a future update and we’ll keep you updated on it. Also, we are happy to put the forge to more use and consider different options for new craftable items.
Other Changes:
• Removed Jack Frost from the realm
 • Removed Oryxmas tokens
 • Added Third Dimension Key to the Epic Mystery Key description
 • Other minor fixes

Friday News: Spoiler Alert!

Hello Curious Realmers,

As promised, we are sharing with you some of our plans for the first quarter of 2021. If you want to take a look at what we did last year, please check our 20 minute (or the 20 second one, if you're really in a hurry) recap video that counted with the help of our content creators.

The biggest release of the year is planned for Month of the Mad God, which this year is planned to take place in August. You can expect some big changes to item and dungeon systems… but before that, in Q1, you can expect:

 • Account security improvements;
 • MANY client polishing changes and bug fixes, including the proximity XP issue;
 • New ST sets for the Knight and Necromancer;
 • Dungeon reconstructions of the Sprite World and Deadwater Docks, and perhaps something extra too!;
 • Releasing one new class. We have three candidates so far… and will be releasing more details soon;
 • New in-game notification system which will be separated from the chat, similar to how forgefire and blueprint unlocks appear.

And remember, this is just what we can reveal by now. There will be a lot more changes. Some of them, highly requested. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we can.
